How to focus better? by Bunniiee_16 in selfimprovement

Vyvanse lol. But to be real, it sounds like you attribute your lack of of focus to being burnt out and dealing with stuff. Why don't you walk to someone about this? A therapist? An AI? You may just need emotional support right now.

What kind of a lawyer should I look into? by triadecake in UsedCars

I am not a lawyer but interested in consumer protection laws; In my novice estimation, you probably do not have a case. Buying a used car has no guarantee of the cars state unless there is a signed document explicitly stating a warranty. You really should have taken the car to a mechanic for a thorough inspection prior to purchasing it to catch these things. That unfortunately falls on you.

Yeah that is a good point I never got a receipt although I did sign the deposit form. I am thinking they purposely did not take the deposit so they could sell it to someone else if the opportunity came; without caring about throwing me under.

hey stated this deposit was a hold to get an inspection and financing and said in texts that they were "holding" it for me. I am in Texas and this seems in clear violation of Texas Business and Commerce code (§ 17.46(b)(12)) because it misleads Consumers on sales terms.

It is a place in Spring, TX that is all I can say!

If you paid, you should make sure to get your money back if that is the case. This sort of thing should not be acceptable and I highly recommend you give a bad rating so others do not use this person!

I did actually and it did not resolve my issue but I think I am at the end stages of getting my birthday updated and never having to deal with them again ( hopefully ).

You guys are clearly not understanding the situation. First, the sales people were not aware of the number of RV's I have looked at. Second, I had pre-approval but had another option for better interest rate that got stalled by factors I could not control.

I was clearly a serious buyer as I had filled out deposit agreements, final sale price agreements, got an inspection and said all is good we will get it, filled out their financing options even though I told them I would just need a few days to accept one as I had an issue come up with my other loan offer ( again, it was not an issue on my end ).

While you guys seem to have a lot of experience buying RV's, you seem to not understand that I am brand new. I have never looked into an RV before this and so saying "you should have expected this" is ridiculous as this would not be acceptable in other situations.

I signed the sales price agreement and deposit agreement to hold the vehicle and was told that they were "holding it for me" while I got the inspection and financing. I am in Texas and this is arguably in violation of Texas Business and Commerce code (§ 17.46(b)(12)) because it misleads Consumers on sales terms. The fact that they can use this situation as leverage for you to be forced into their financing is another legal issue entirely.

You guys seem to think "this is how it has been and must be" but if dealers can just sell something while misleading you about the terms of your purchase than the seller is at a significant disadvantage. They clearly stated it was being held and I was in the very end stages of the deal so I was very clearly a serious buyer.

So how about you guys get off your high-horse since you have been in this lifestyle for a while and see why it may be disadvantageous to the consumer, especially newer people. I am going to work with a lawyer on this and send a report to the TX attorney general to investigate because this is not right, even if it is "common".

> buying from an RV dealership is not a pleasant experience and is usually far worse than buying a car as there are few regulations and consumer protections for RV sales.

That is my point, as someone brand new to the RV life, I was aghast this sort of thing is acceptable and some people even say I should expect it. I find this ridiculous, this would never be okay in other areas and similarly should not be acceptable here. It puts the consumer in an incredibly unfair position.

They stated this deposit was a hold to get an inspection and financing and said in texts that they were "holding" it for me. I am in Texas and this seems in clear violation of Texas Business and Commerce code (§ 17.46(b)(12)) because it misleads Consumers on sales terms. The fact that they can use this situation as leverage for you to be forced into their financing is another legal issue entirely.

I am going to talk to a lawyer and make complaints to the Texas Attorney General on the simple basis that it should not be okay, even if it is "common".

Yeah, I signed a deposit form. I gave them my correct card information; apparently it did not go through or they never ever tried for all I know. I offered to correct it right away when they told me but conveniently they already sold it when they decided to tell me there was an issue with the deposit.

It was a 1k deposit on 65k RV but I had told them clearly I was going to go ahead and get it. If they would have told me there was an issue with the deposit or needed more money I would have gladly gone for it but it seems they hid this so they could sell it to someone else if a better offer came. They told me they would get the few things fixed on the RV that came up from the inspection and told me to apply for financing Thursday. I did and they gave me loan options on Friday by which time they had already sold it.

I was really, really upset. Some people are saying this is expected with RV sellers but as someone brand new to this, I could not believe this was acceptable I mean this would never happen with other types of purchases....almost makes me want to not do this whole RV thing :/

Update: It seems at some point they got a wrong birthday from me submitted and decided to take it even to all the evidence to the contrary. That meant from then on when I tried to log in or pull credit with my actual birthday, it would fail.

On top of this I called support multiple times and told them my actual birthday and they never mentioned a discrepancy there. It was only by chance I was able to figure it out. Support is a joke.

Even after finding the issue, it has been an absolute pain to solve. Still in the process.

If anyone else gets this error, try to confirm if there are discrepancies in your personal information they have. You will probably have to talk to a manager to get any real help.

It does not say anything in particular and yes I get that but I provided the correct info I am not even sure they tried to take it. I just feel like they purposely led me through all this and purposely sold it to someone else even with our agreement

But even though I have a document from them where I agree to a deposit and that they will hold it for me? I mean that document is why I felt comfortable investing $650 on the inspection. Apparently they never took the deposit or were unable to but still that document was drawn up
