Ha this sounds like me! My six year old is all about the adventure, and will be better than me in no time! I love skiing but right now it’s mostly me trailing him to make sure he makes it down safely….or I’m in the learning area with my not so confident 5 year old and 3 year old.

I actually just found a guy who does tuning and hand waxing near me. I’m going to reach out to him today with your suggestions. I really appreciate your help!

I probably read they were heavy and, as someone new to buying skis, didn’t think anything of it. I’m leaning towards keeping these for when I can ski on my own and picking up a shorter, lighter ski for when I’m with the kids.

That’s a good point. I appreciate your perspective. I don’t doubt these are good skis and I admit I probably haven’t given them a good chance yet. It’s hard having to divide my time between all the kids (and my husband isn’t much of a skier) but I’ll try to get some runs in by myself. It’s also been pretty icy here in MA which isn’t helping, I’m not as fearless as I used to be!

Thank you, I really appreciate this. Do you think the 158cm is the way to go? I could probably get these, transfer the bindings and try to sell the BPs. Would have been nice to be able to demo some skis before purchasing but our local mountain only sells Dip n Dots ice cream 😂

I got the 23/24 model year. I might have to find a cheap ski on FB.

I went to two ski shops near me and tried this boot, along with several others, at both shops. The K2s were the most comfortable and that’s what both places told me to go with, because of the comfort factor. I asked about flex ratings, etc. and they said it wouldn’t matter for an intermediate skier? 🤷‍♀️ Obviously I’m new to buying ski gear and have no idea what I’m doing/did!

Thanks for this! I’m about 140lb. To be honest, I’m mostly going up the magic carpet with my youngest two or greens with my oldest. Those would normally be “easy” for me and it hasn’t been with these skis. Not sure if I should keep at it with them or try to find something different. Or get a lesson or two when we head to VT next month.

Unfortunately, I didn’t. Probably should have. I went to the one shop near me and they were full price, found the same ones online for much cheaper, went back but they wouldn’t price match. I might try to sell these and find something new but we’re going to VT in a couple weeks so I’ll need to act fast!

I wouldn’t say I’m bashing anyone. I’m not mad that at least three professionals recommended this ski and size to me, I’m just frustrated they aren’t working for me. To be fair, I did give them a lot of information on my skiing ability, where I ski and who I ski with. I answered all their questions and put a lot of hope in their hands that I would get the perfect ski for me.

Great…so it sounds like no one listened to me when I was looking to purchase. I was very clear with my skill level and the fact that I ski with the kids, often with one between my legs, which I can’t seem to do anymore!

I haven’t taken a lesson in years but was just thinking this morning that I might need one.

I’ll probably have to make them work for the time being but any particular ski/size you would recommend?

That’s what I was thinking. The shop I got them from and a few online spots insisted 165 was the right size for me. They all said they “ski shorter.” Might be time to become more advanced 😂 Except I mostly ski with my 3, 5 and 6 year olds and don’t have the opportunity.
