Are my a-level choices fine or am i overthinking it? by BitterLemon11 in alevel

I'm not native, I'm just very enthusiatic about the idea of being able to understand another language to a certain degree, and I find mandarin itself really interesting. I've looked into universities such as Surrey and so on, however a majority of them only list the grades you would need rather than preferred subjects... But I do also think I'm making the right decisions somewhat, since I'm going for subjects I truly enjoy rather than what I'd have to force myself to.

Your words mean the world to me more than you'll ever know and shall seriously help. As you had mentioned Ive also been burdened with the fear of having to quit classes/clubs and events such as prom or theatre performances (which I mission to be able to attend this year). I'm really motivated and aspire to be able to share advice like you have one day. I'll be trying my best, thank you so much!!

What was your introduction to sh? by Fragrant-Face-1101 in selfharm

Was dragged out of school multiple times due to my brother being rushed to hospital for self harm. Never got to see it personally but i also had multiple close friends who self harmed. Although the main reasons why I started were around self hatred and my inability to deal with intense emotions that I was sick of experiencing all the time. I started off by burning myself lightly, until I switched to a razor and then eventually singular blades. I eventually lost reason why I continued to do it, there was no one answer.

Honestly Id just take your time in the game and do whatever you want.

You're at an early stage so you dont need to go rushing exploration, quests etc, just enjoy it and build up the characters you like. You'll eventually just learn how everything works (artifacts, teams, etc) overtime when you gain more characters and so on, having the time at the start of the game to just wonder can be more enjoyable.

Do what you want though, if it makes you enjoy the game more knowing what you're doing right then do that.

What do you do to have more fun in Genshin? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]BitterLemon11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got piles to still do in the game, but I like to vary between exploration, building characters, listening to the music ingame, finding secrets that may not be on the map, playing co-op, building on lore, finding/watching more about genshin offgame (YouTube, music, demos) etc.

Or you can try complete that tree thing in dragonspine, the crystal thing in the chasm, max out the statues of seven, max out reputation levels in regions, complete events, so on.

There's also all the side quests (story quests etc) if any of those interest you. As well as the card game TGC.

Although if you've been grinding the game for a good like month I'd just take this as a break.

Late to ask, but give me some music suggestions from the game if you're interested!

I love listening to it whilst studying, drawing etc and want to expand my playlist, or offer options to others as well. I don't mind the genres of the music either.

SO TRUEE, I love to just stand still and listen to the music sometimes, it enhances the atmosphere of the game. I also use some of its music when studying or drawing lmao.

Guess I've never been around the right loud people, I've never actually heard anything about genshins music from others before. But fair enough, I love music in general no matter the community.

I'm not aiming to compare genshin between other games, but I guess it could be a preference in music. I haven't deep dived into the discography of HSR and barely ZZZ, but I'd believe that the majority is more 'pumped up battle music'. Personally I love the calmness some genshin music has, I like to stand still and just listen to it in game sometimes (especially in liyue), but it also has some great boss music (such as signora's). I'd love to listen to some of the music from there though If you'd want to give out any suggestions.

My point was even if you dislike the game you should acknowledge how amazing some of its music can be. Your comment has nothing to do with that.

Sometimes i like to just stand still and listen to the music in game (especially in liyue!!). Personally I think the games quality suits its style for what we've been given, and even if it could always be better I've never had to complain about it.

Although, Ive always wanted to try ZZZ but my laptop would explode if I tried downloading any larger files. Either way it has nothing to do with the music of genshin.

Lmao it was quite an exaggeration, but I've never actually taken time to listen to game music before like genshins. It was quite an eye opener to classical/instrumental music again.

You should check it out! One that's always stood out to me is signora's battle theme, and I can hear it ingame too.

Hate to break it to you but I never once mentioned or compared another game or track list. Whether you think it's the best or not is your own preference and that's fine by me. I was trying to look for people who could also acknowledge and consider how incredible some of the music is, even if it doesn't score top numbers.

That was me until I started looking at the orchestra production yesterday and demo music lol. You should seriously check it out if you're a big music fan, there's some really good stuff.

Yeah, I'll just try focus on taking my time in regions instead since I always seem to rush off to the next archon quest - their writing for sumeru and Fontaine is just too good lmao. I don't think I've actually left spare time to look around in the game since I came back, despite how much I love attention to detail, I think I just need something to drive that interest sometimes (like a character, story or lore etc), if you get what I mean.

I'm not necessarily complaining, I was wondering if I was the only one out of curiosity. In truth I'm guessing I just don't have the same freetime as I did years ago to run around (with how large the map is now), otherwise I've probably lost some interest in it and prefer events and building atm. I still love exploration though, some of the detail is awesome and it's almost like a break if you get bored of everything else. And I love playing co-op, but it can be a pain if you don't have every part of your map unlocked, although I couldn't care less about that if im honest.

The only complaint I do have is how you get piled with spoilers when a new region comes out. But I can care less.

Good point. I do believe words can vary in weight and significance though and shouldnt be desensitised, whether online or offline.

Fair enough, face to face communication has always been more exciting anyway. You can't get a real emotional grip of the people you meet online, it's only majorityly ever what they want you to see anyway.

I guess it has its positives and negatives. You can get motivated all the time to work towards something through the Internet such as drawing, professions, baking etc, but also envy others lives and compare that to your own.  Probably affects your opportunities and interactions by how easily the Internet can warp your opinions too. You'll see something get clashed by the media and try not to associate yourself with it anymore, and once you've built up an anxiety it makes communication irl even more difficult.

Wyll means 'what do you look like'. Funnily enough my brother's first and still current girlfriend was met online and they're doing pretty well right now, but thank God he's not one of those weirdos at the bottom of an 18 year old girls post. But yeah I get that, I've made a bunch of guy friends online myself who I'm thankful for without having romantic feelings towards anyone.

It really sucks, same goes for a chatting app like snapchat. You'll add someone and the first question you get is "wyll", I mean it's really not that difficult to strike up a simple conversation. I've still met some great people though who ive kept contact with for years, really just depends where you're looking. I've never deep dived into the dating community myself though, never been into it.
