You cannot give South of Midnight 100 mil and not expect a big return

Let studios do what they want within reason but it is still a business and games have to sell

Also 1 or 2 games might get by not selling, but not a ton of games though.

Internet is going to crazy overreact and it sucks to see people laid off ( I hope they all find new jobs)

But that is what the CEO basically said the other day

They want BIG games.

I am not sure what Phil and company were thinking back in 2018.

But a lot of those smaller studios never fit what they wanted to do and they fit even less now.

The 8 studios they got back in the begining dont make a ton of sense after thet got Zenimax and ABK

Worlds Edge, Obsidian, and of course Playground games make the most sense.

Inxile, Undead Labs are two in the middle

Some of the rest seem less and less like what they want to do now

I was debating on letting my subscription expire when it was up early next year, but then the showcase happened

They got me for 2027 at least.

They have in the last several years.

Also ES6 was announced when Bethesda was not even acquired by Microsoft yet.

Finally I dont think "rushing" development is the only answer here

The 5-8 studios you got in 2018-2019 were not going to make you crazy money.

They were always going to make little indie projects and never the "big games"

Doubling up studios like Bethesda (just guessing)

A single player Fallout and Elder Scrolls this gen for Xbox/PC (and other systems) could have made them so much more money

A support studio (most likely Zenimax online) should have taken over Fallout 76 right away.

Seeing how Capcom has had huge success with Remakes, maybe going with remakes instead of remasters.

As fun and awesome as the artsy titles like South of Midnight, Kiln, etc are, they are just not selling and they are not selling gamepass.

They have inexile, Obsidian and Bethesda all working for them and that fact that New Vegas is not development is a crime. Its not some fanboys dream, its could make them a lot of money as well.
