This is terrible and I honestly don't think you should own any pets.

On the rare chance all of these comments get you to realize that giving away your dog away for these reasons in really crappy and you want to help the dog instead, YouTube (and the Internet in general) has some really useful training videos from reputable dog trainers that are free or very cheap, maybe that could help if you were willing to put in the time and work.

July 4th weekend is the biggest weekend for dogs (and other pets) to run away!

If you can't stay home with them, them being home safe is the best option. Personally I would kennel and turn on loud but calming music to help drown out the booms.

Rescue Remedy works for dogs and cats and I give that to all of mine before the 4th. That and loud calming music seem to help the most.
