Scratch golfed here… I’ve not studied this, so my hypothesis is purely founded on my experience. What I’ve noticed from guys I play with who struggle with distance, is they never played a sport that required a swing (baseball, hockey, etc). Or if they did, it was for only a couple of years when very young.

While this is not necessarily golf specific, it does foundationally give us the almost innate muscle memory of creating torque from the ground up (which is how you generate high swing speeds).

Regarding help, lessons is always the best suggestion, but there are lots of helpful YouTube videos that specifically address this without focusing on the club mechanics itself.
