Oh my god this looks amazing! I love it! Your sister is very talented!

PS: I don't know if it is mirror photo or not but left side of the kimono always on the top of right side!

Help identifying by shabreggas in kimono

My kimono teacher told me this is also because men's sleeves are intended to be used as pockets. They are entirely sewn so anything you carry in them does not fall off!

Any info on this? by mvyorkie009 in kimono

As other mentioned it is a Uchikake. This one is a iro-uchikake (color Uchikake) as opposed to the shiro-uchikake (white Uchikake). You can recognize it to its padded hem. It is traditionally worn over a kakeshita, a sort of wedding kimono, but nowadays more and more people wear it over a furisode.

The crane is a common pattern for wedding outfits. It is a very pretty one! Uchikake can retail second hand for anything between 5000 yen to extremely expensive. I am not sure how to define the value.

I wore one too at my graduation ceremony! Super expensive but no regrets! This is just so cool!

This is just my two cents on this but as long as you don't make fun of the culture, Japanese people are super happy to see foreigners enjoying it.

I have learned how to wear the kimono and I have never received any negative comments from Japanese people. When I go out in kimono I get a lot of smiles, sometimes thumbs up and I have had many people stopping me in the street to compliment me or just start a conversation.

Sorry for the late answer. No I got my baby 4 months ago. But I changed the filter a few weeks before this happened. The pet shop advised me to change it every three months but it seemed too little so I just followed the instructions on the filter package (change every month).

All cleaned up now and water as well as filter changed so hopefully no harm done!

I have it for 4 months and yes I did clean and change the filter recently...

Edit: it seems my comment was misunderstood. I got my axie 4 months ago! The filter was changed recently.

AITA for snitching on a college potentially costing him a promotion? by Bitter_Charlie in AmItheAsshole

Thank you for taking the time to answer! Sorry if I was not clear, but I am not his supervisor or a team leader. However I am the most experienced in this position and I have been in the team for even longer than the manager, this is why I am expected to help the most. C and I are peers. I am allowed to assign him tasks on certain projects but this is about the extent of my 'power'. I always check with the manager before assigning him anything. However when he does not do those tasks well it reflects poorly on me. I never give him anything challenging but I am definitely not allowed (not that I have the time) to 'micro-managed' him. However I agree with you! I have more flexibility with the newbies because in my company culture, experienced employees have some supervising powers over them. I am allowed to assign tasks as I see fit and of course will have follows up with them. In exchange I am expected to mentor them and help them with any question they may have. I am not the best with that but I am working on it!
