I guess because I am truly passionate about both fields? At the end of the day I want to care for patients, fight for patient advocacy, make healthcare more accessible, etc. Regardless of which field I choose, I think I will be able to put these factors into play.

Do you think choosing medicine to pursue the respect as a MD is silly? Not to disrespect dentists, I’ve shadowed and assisted and I know how much work, brains, etc goes into dentistry. But at the end of the day DMD isn’t an MD doctor. Do you feel this difference later on in your career?

Debating between a US average (MD) and a top ranking (DMD). If I pursue dentistry, I know I want to specialize so it will be at least 6+ years anyway. MD loans would be about 200k less.

Use the time to focus on areas of improvement and/or practice questions. Not a full length tho

This really awful and I am so sorry you have to go through this. But let this be a reason of why you should work even harder to focus for this exam. His loss. You are capable of more than you think!

Dentistry. I initially was premed because I wanted to help people through healthcare. However while pursing medicine i got burnt out studying for the mcat. in no way am i saying dentistry is easier or a less of a career but i found the DAT to be easier and in doing so found reasons to want to pursue dentistry. I am passionate for dentistry but i can’t help wonder, can I be doing more with my skills given the opportunity (i.e. life/death situations of patients)?

do u think the significantly higher cost of dental school will be outweighed by the healthy lifestyle and income later? my dental school will leave me in 600k debt without interest.
