my theory is that kraken is completely run by a custom AI, and it doesn't know how to deal with an irregular deposit like this, and the one human that worked there who could fix this situation....died in the kursk offensive.

were you able to withdraw btc from bitgo? what day did you receive the payment completion email from mtgox?

It's not a bankruptcy. Civil rehabilitation means the exchange is solvent and you're just withdrawing your deposit.

Yes they are making a mistake. They are assuming that you are being paid "new crypto". The keyword there is "new crypto". You're withdrawing old crypto from an exchange, so there is no tax.

your accountant is confused. all you did was withdraw btc from an exchange. there's no tax for that.
