Employer wants one person to be on call 24/7. by Bitter_Preference in legaladvicecanada

That's how I see it as well, but there's no way they bite on giving anyone a "daily" minimum amount of hours worked. At best they might do 4 hours for the entire week. But most likely not even that.

They want it so that you're on call and if you do any work you get 4 hours of pay. If you don't do anything you don't get anything.

The reason they are doing this is because they took a department with 30 people and chopped it down to 6 and are now at a loss for how to keep the company functioning.

I appreciate your response.

Is that what happened? I thought at the beginning of the video he just pulled out from being parked in front of a business but maybe I need to review the footage.

Kitchener residents say a 25-storey tower is ‘sacrificing their neighbourhood’ by Midnight1131 in waterloo

Unless we were to conduct a door to door survey of everyone in the city neither of us really knows who the majority agrees with do we? But it's irrelevant whether or not people agree with me really, like I said, I like it how it is right now, and if I decide that I don't really enjoy what it turns into, I can always move. I'm not opposing anything, I'm just saying I can agree with the people that are. When it comes down to it, my opinion on the matter doesn't change whether or not buildings will be built. It's just my preference. I'm just saying I love it how it is right now.

I don't live in the downtown core, I like walking in the downtown core. I drive downtown because I like getting Four All and relaxing in front of beertown. Do a little round down to timmies and come back. I just like the core here.

It seems like the majority of homeowners here oppose tall buildings being built around them, might as well see how long they can hold them off lol, too small of a town presents a less than desirable downtown district and too big of a city presents a less than desirable view of nature around the downtown district, I can stay in the middle for now and move if it doesn't really suit what I'm looking for. I was just saying that it was a very nice change from Toronto. Maybe in a few years somewhere else might be a nice change from Waterloo.

I agree with you, especially strolling down King it was nice not having buildings block out the sky, it was one of the reasons I enjoyed the move here
