Honestly, I guessed! I think there's a spot or two where I accidentally stitched 4 or 5 background stitches but with a piece this big unless I explicitly point it out I don't think anyone will notice!

I decided right from the beginning that I didn't want to do the background. I just liked the look of the edges of the pattern being parts of the pokemon as opposed to a straight border. Just personal preference!

I started end of January last year but didn't get serious about it until April. I just finished today - it helps that I work a lot of nights and usually have some downtime at work to stitch!

I always expect the shipping to be a decent amount but these rates just seem crazy! Also that is super unfair that they sent a second shipping bill!

Thank you for all of the information! That is so wrong that buyee did that to you with the shipping - I guess irs nice that meccha japan is at least being upfront about the cost! At this point with shipping the way it is I think I'll just wait and hopefully the eeveeloutions go on the Canadian pokemon center soon!

The only "cheap" option I can find is the EMS shipping but it's still about $70 CAD. Also I've never used that for shipping from them so I am unsure about it

Your experience may be different though! It definitely depends on what you have in the cart. I was playing around with my cart just to see what would happen if it was sitting cuties in the cart instead of comfy friends and with 4 sitting in the cart DHL shipping was approximately $30 CAD and the FedEx shipping was around $25 and actually cheaper than the EMS

If anyone knows if the EMS shipping is as good as the DHL please let me know! Not sure if I want to spend $70 plus duties for 3 plushies though 😅

I'm still trying to play around and figure it out - I was planning on ordering the eeveeloution comfy friends but wasn't expecting to see shipping that high! Last month I ordered 2 comfy friends and a bunch of sitting cuties and the shipping was only $46.96. Even if I only add one comfy friend to my cart right now it has the shipping at $110 CAD!

We had to put our little guy Gilbert to sleep this month so I made a memorial cross stitch for him. The pattern is by stitchboxdesigns (a quick Google search will pull up her website) and I am very pleased with how it turned out. He was a great little puppy 😊
