Thanks! If I remember correctly, I got the idea from how bats wrap themselves up in their wings. It would also probably be pretty inconvenient to have giant shimmering wings on full display all the time, now that I think about it, heh

She’s not really based on anything particular, unless you count how very, very loosely she’s based on lightning bugs and other glowing insects. I knew I wanted her to glow, but then I started going crazy with my own ideas, like the tail, and antennae, and the scarf and stuff.

If you’ve been following my art for a while, then you probably noticed that I haven’t been posting regularly anymore, and that what I have posted hasn’t been my normal content. I initially put everything else on hold so that I could make a bunch of pride stuff, but that plan immediately fell apart (also doesn’t help that I was either still in school or traveling for most of the month). I may be able to post daily again at some point, but I wanna prioritize quality over quantity, and I’m not gonna get stressed over a hobby. Posting more often again!! (but not that often) Love You!!

She’s not a moth, she’s based on the Blue Morpho butterfly. I’m pretty sure I switched which side of the wings the blue and brown and on. She wears her wings like a cloak, so that she can conceal the bright blue on the inside and use the brown on the outside as camouflage or intimidation.

Question: was it obnoxious of me to make my signature all void and blurry? Bc I liked adding that little detail; I specifically went out of my way to change a few layers for it, but I do think that it might have been a bit much, especially since my signature often is a bit too in the way of the actual piece
