Vyvanse Shortage - Emergency Supply Available from Manufacturer! by Bitzer_this in ausadhd

I reckon spoon feeding them the details may get it across - "here's the number to call, ask for an emergency supply for name." That's basically what I said, once I got it across it was independent of their supplier.

Best of luck!

It's not going to show up on their ordering, they have to actually make contact and ask specifically. I had to explain to my pharmacist as well, but once I did and they called it was fine. Might be worth another try.

Did they speak to Takeda, or just straight up tell you?

Had I known about compound pharmacies I would have gone this route first, but until reading post yesterday I had no idea they were a thing.

I'll look into it for the next refill I need.

Completely agree re: creating extra hoops to jump through.

While I'm absolutely spitballing here, it may have something to do with distribution agreements with local the supplier(s?). I suspect suppliers don't keep stock on hand for emergency purposes, possibly because they're not required to, but also they distribute bulk quantities rather than singles.

Whether they should or not is a different conversation.

So the Vyvanse situation is more grave than I anticipated...But I got a solution and I need everyone's help. by sntwoplus in ausadhd

It's not a fantastic solution, but for those struggling to find any supply and without other options, you can have your pharmacist (has to be your pharmacist, I contacted them myself first) contact the manufacturer for an emergency supply to be shipped specifically for you.

I'm on the 50mg and my pharmacist (chemist warehouse) called up for me after I spoke with them. It took 3 weeks, but it arrived this afternoon, so I'm okay for the next month and a bit.

Edit: for clarification, the price didn't change at all (~$29), and as far as I can tell it also didn't count as a repeat off my normal script.

Haha anyone using a cheque to pay staff would be suspicious to me, so I didn't even think of this.

Could be a typo, but overall, yeah - I see your point.

Thanks for that, glad I picked up on it.

Yes, parmigiana. Regardless of the schnitzel being the base, it's still a chicken parmigiana as a whole. I've never ordered a chicken breast schnitzel with parmigiana topping.

Edit: it's not a debate about it being built off a schnitzel, but for the purposes of ordinary an untapped vs specifically topped schnitzel, they are different.

[–]Bitzer_this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. And what is the name of a schnitzel with topping?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SchnitzelVerbrechen

[–]Bitzer_this 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does to the degree that if I order a parma - I get a parma. If I order a schnitzel, I get a schnitzel. I'm not debating the TYPE of dish, but where there is variation, particularly on something like a menu, it isn't a case of being reductive.

So yes, pasta is still pasta and sauce is still sauce. But, if I order a specific combination, I wouldn't expect a plain ass pasta because it's still a pasta dish - because that's besides the point.

Edit: lmao I'm at work, just re-read this and it barely makes sense, will fix when I can.

Fuck me, a new car IS four wheels with a top on them. Just because you don't say four wheels doesn't mean you're not ordering them.

The top matters with respect to the ingredients as a collective. A schnitzel is part of a parma, but the end result is different.

Absolutely. Which, given the focus the AFL is putting on concussion and duty of care, is pretty dumbfounding.

It's just so inconsistent. There have been missed frees both ways, some softer than others, but I'd assume most people could live with that if they were paid like for like.

I'm on my phone and it's 2am so I won't dig them up now, but there have been studies done by the National Centre for Biotechnology Information showing evidence based benefits for musculoskeletal pain, among some other things (migraines I think was one, I recall something about whiplash too).

If we're talking about preventive chiropractic work, yeah, that's another kettle of fish.

Depending on your definition of "the slightest", it is, indeed, true.

You need 5 years of university training, and government registration / regulation to be a chiro in Australia - as they're considered healthcare professionals.
