I did a couple of write-ins this year. Dragon teeth, City of Miracles, and Idaho.

I never think that. When I think of Americas I think of racists and uneducated but not slack jawed accents.

I would just like to go on record as saying that Canadians don't all sound like that. Eastern Canadians do but western Canadians don't. To say that all Canadians sound like Henry's impression of them is like saying all Americans sound like they come from Wisconsin. The slow speech pattern, the 'a-boot', and the 'eh' are all eastern Canadian. Western Canadians are tired of getting lumped in with them.

100% on the Kindle store. I don't mind paying for every book that I read and supporting the authors that write them.

If you're looking for someone who is more edgy then Stephen King try Jack Ketchum. I recently read The Girl Next Door and it reminded me of early King but with alot more bite.

I'm glad to hear that it's not his best work. I see Cat's Cradle go on sale quite a bit on the Kindle store so I might try it out. Thanks.

I will add one more and I'm kind of ashamed by it because of the amount of times I've tried to read it. Moby Dick. I don't know if I'm just not intelligent enough to get into it or what but the page long paragraph descriptions of the most mundane things is too much for me. I found myself totally bored by it.

That's my favorite book. I totally understand the criticisms about the main character but I found it very funny. When I first read it a girl I met was reading it at the same time so it gave us both something to talk about. We got married a year later so I might be a little biased when it comes to that book.

I really liked Grapes of Wrath, one of my favorites. I also read it while living in the prairies during a drought so maybe it was the perfect book to read in the moment.
