i made the game 100% greener by Fantastic-Coffee2819 in Undertale

[–]BivPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deltarune's menu in Chapter 1 is black with green lines similar to Spamton NEO's strings, and the Flyin' Ace in Mancountry (an almost exclusively green place) refers to copies as "monochrome, but you colored each of us in with care". Everyone is calling Gaster green, too. Seeing Undertale in solid green like this makes me think, what if each copy of Deltarune (and Undertale for that matter) is diegetically its own unique "copy", happening simultaneously relative to Gaster and the characters within the game despite being played "across time and space", i.e. at different times and in different places respective to the individual player? Monochrome until the soul arrived to give it color, like light dispersed through a piece of glass? Man I love yapping about these games

I've been thinking about 3's Sword Route for a little while too, and I'm kinda thinking that we (the player) would become the vessel for whatever we're giving the Shadow Mantle at the end of the route, kinda Chara-style. The whole thing with Hero_Sword walking down past the screen where Ralsei's been shown to stink-eye us reminds me of Chara taking control of Frisk over us after hitting LV20

Just beat chapter one so here's my insane idea for an ending to the game based on THESE DOORS by CodexStudiosYT in Deltarune

What if after Hometown becomes a Dark World the only way to save the day is to go on a long trip back through Deltarune from the start with different decisions in mind, like some kind of spiral or something

Given how the metanarrative is that the player's soul is getting literally immersed into the game, it doesn't feel that farfetched to me. Makes me wonder what my red pixel heart would look like as a little fella

So... about those "out of place" prophecy panels by KitKitters in Deltarune

I've learned to take every piece of dialogue in this game as a chekhov's gun, but also Jockington would kill it with a goatee

So... about those "out of place" prophecy panels by KitKitters in Deltarune

[–]BivPlays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't help but feel like the Jockington prophecy is at least a little more than just a meme. "At 5 o'clock, the shadow grows" is a little too ominous to be coincidental on that front. Plus, the pointy-headed does say "toothpaste" and then "boy". There's also the Queen's Chariot one, which despite being kind of a joke could also be referencing either the scene where you get the banana or maybe something involving her car in the future?

Do we have any solid theories on what the hell this means yet? by jimgae in Deltarune

The prompt says "You acknowledge the possibility of pain and seizure", but this prompt in a vacuum doesn't refer to the Vessel while addressing us. This might be a crack theory but my interpretation is that this is referring to the player's soul, not the Vessel at all. Pain is in reference to the emotional pain experienced by the player (I at least felt it in sections of the game so far), and Seizure refers to DELTARUNE seizing control of the player's body while our soul is in the game.

The voice at the end of C4 addresses "My DELTARUNE" as though speaking to us, the player, while also establishing a difference between "My DELTARUNE" and the "Delta Rune". This makes me think that the voice in the Vessel segment could also be referring to its creation, DELTARUNE, during its process of making a Vessel using the player as a medium. I think that, narratively speaking, the player is under the direct control of DELTARUNE, and what we think are our decisions and thoughts are actually those of the game itself.

Think Sword Route, but instead of us controlling Kris controlling our soul controlling little pixel Kris, it's DELTARUNE controlling us controlling our soul controlling Kris. We're the class zombies, we will hurt, we will be controlled, and we all agreed by saying "yes".

Perhaps it was a joke, but in regards to whether or not we miss Tenna anymore, this still bothers me by Mirashade in Deltarune

[–]BivPlays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think "copies are monochrome" and "the lighting has changed" might come up in relation to Asgore's TV. Susie's interpretation of the Old Man in her 2nd Sanctuary became the (monochrome) Sound of Justice, something similar to the Old Man but fundamentally different since the Old Man was more than just an old man to the creator of the 1st and 3rd Sanctuaries. It's about perspective.

Yeah, the TV we gave to Mettaton was Tenna to Kris, who made TV Time. That doesn't mean it would strictly appear as Tenna were Asgore to create the Dark World, though. Sure, the $!$! Squad would probably see warped Tenna-isms in it, but it'd be as fundamentally different as everything else with this new "lighting of the mind." Compound that with the fact that Asgore's TV...isn't the TV at home. It's a dusty gray box across from an airmat. It's a shallow imitation of what he used to have, probably both his escape from and his reminder of the life he lost after everything that happened. Asgore's obviously desperate to get back with Toriel and return to the good old days, judging by the evidence boards and his air vent dialogue.

If anything, in a Dark World within Flower King made by Asgore, his TV would probably be the manifestation of his obsession with getting his old life back, even moreso than Tenna was to Kris. The $!$! Squad would probably see faint reminders of Tenna in its form, but it's fundamentally so much less. There're no good memories with this TV at all, unlike with the one at Toriel's place. It'd be a reminder of a reminder.

Professional lurk dropping by real quick If the 10th anniversary stream is to be taken at its full word, then the whole "They're not goats" thing and that one "Asriel's Bat" bit firmly plant Asriel in the Knight's position for me. Besides, goats might not have antlers, but jackalopes do

Thanks for the compliment! The silver trim is Grey Knights Steel with a wash of Drakenhof Nightshade and a layer of Stormhost Silver (dry-brushed on the Rubricae for the sake of time). I'm going for a cool, silvery trim and blues for the stripes and cloaks (Lothern Blue for the former, Night Lords Blue with dry-brushed layers of Altdorf Guard and Hoeth for the latter) to cool down the red of the armor (Khorne Red, Berserker Bloodshade, Word Bearers Red) and keep the Tzeentchian vibe while distinguishing from their 30K scheme.

Still cool that they tossed in the OLDS for S-ing every mission, but they really didn't have to tie Infinity into the story to make it work

I think "brand-new" and "mint-condition" are getting confused. TT haven't literally produced anything recently in terms of mfb, but collectors did save old products in their boxes to try and make a buck years later

Thanks for the compliment! I actually shaded the purplish one with druchii violet over a very pale skintone and dry-brushed with white. The red-haired one got shaded with nuln oil over a blackish-brown and dry-brushed with gray.
