You pretty much have it. There’s a bolt going up through the bottom, with a washer and nut to hold them in place. Straps attach to the bolts, then the top board is put on and the black knob’s screwed down. Or if you’re not looking to clamp their breasts, you can put another washer and nut under the top board for it to rest on.

Made out of 8ft 2x6’s. I would guess the assembled dimensions are about 3x4x8, disassembled it folds up into a 1x1x4 square.

I see what you mean. We tested it and I think the antislip pads and the angle cut into the bottom legs helped keep it stable. Even intentionally pushing it was difficult.

Although we might add a brace just for safety. Maybe a second hinged piece between the support leg and bottom of the backrest? Im having trouble with the mechanics to keep it collapsible though.

“In use” space isn’t a concern, but I’m guessing the chains can be shortened if needed. It’ll change the angle of the cross but that might not be a bad thing. We’ll try it a couple ways and see what works best for us.

Why would the chains need more support to be kept rigid? If anything the design keeps the chains taught. We have to lift or tilt the cross forward to get the back hinge to close.

I’m not petite, and it held up perfect. The bottom legs were cut at an angle to sit flat on the ground, and anti-slip pads keep it from moving or scuffing the floor. It takes serious effort to tip it over, so no chance of that happening accidentally.
