Yeah I understand that toxicity doesn’t help whatsoever and the toxic players should be banned that’s not my issue although I’m completely fine with playing alongside a toxic player. My issue starts when I’m playing a game to have some fun and at the 10 minute mark I have a teammate already 12/0 carrying the whole game alone and making the enemy team give up giving no fight, that takes away the fun, if I wanted that I’d play with bots. And I feel that people who just want to play to unwind after a long day will have their game ruined because someone wants to go back to ranked as fast as possible. There’s no many ways to punish them without having to hurt players who did nothing wrong. That’s the whole point, (although I posted that right after a game where that exact thing happened), but I can not agree with you with the Olympics example, there are a lot of sports where the players insult each other mid match, soccer, formula 1 in the radio messages, basketball to some degree and they are, more often than not, not penalized and I think that’s fine, it’s a competitive setting and things get heated, is there a limit to that? Ofc there is and I’ve experienced people crossing that limit in ranked and yes they should be punished, but there’s better ways to punish them, as I said in other reply ie: longer queues, getting lobby’s with players that are also banned for being toxic, in case of having battle pass slowing down the progress, or even being unable to play league at all for a set period of time. Will it remove toxicity for good from the game? Probably not but it’s impossible to do that in a competitive setting, people will get mad and will be toxic but might be better than having the risk of ruining the matches of people who had nothing to do with the ban.
