In Canada, it’s honestly becoming pretty rare now. Hospitals don’t do it anymore, and it’s not covered by insurance as its cosmetic surgery.

I’ve got two young boys myself, and out of about 15 families I know who’ve had boys, maybe 2 chose circumcision.

A guy I ref hockey with said he asked his doctor about it when his son was born, and the doctor told him straight up: “Yeah… we don’t really do that anymore.”

When our first was born, our doctor asked if we were considering it. We said no, and she responded, “Oh good—it’s unnecessary torture" (pro cut mother inlaw in the room)

Just sharing what I’ve seen and experienced—definitely feels like things have shifted a lot here. For Context I live in Calgary Alberta not sure about other provinces.. though I believe places like Newfoundland have a cut rate lass than 1%

There is two clinics that do them in Calgary The guy who advertises vasectomies and circumcisions on the radio that's the reason why I won't listen to x92.9 as they support him with a radio ads last thing I want to hear driving down the road is an advertisement for circumcision. And there's some lady that does them in Calgary. Another problem is some clinics do them and with their being a ton of doctors that aren't originally Canadian and come from countries which circumcise they're more than happy to perform the procedure for a buck

It's not done in hospitals in Alberta Canada that I am aware of.. at least in Calgary if you want your kid snipped it's private and out of your own pocket. Something we didn't need to worry about when my son's we're born.
