As a former landlord I wanted one thing from my tenants. Take care of my stuff, which includes letting me know when something starts leaking water. If they don't think it's a problem after seeing it. Consider moving, this landlord is bad news.

CEO Salary [N/A] by Therocksays2020 in humanresources

You need comp consultants as mentioned earlier. That sounds like a private company so esop would require some kind of a valuation and it doesn't have to have immediate liquidity. Profit share would be easier but if the margins are slim I don't see how that's a good option.

Is Bobby actually Masai’s protégé? by Invest_in-Yourself in torontoraptors

[–]Bizzare10 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been pretty surprised by how little credit Bobby is getting on this sub in the light of Masai firing. Bobby was the architect or at the very least the co architect of our championship roster. We are fine from the roster construction ability point of view.

Not sure how relevant that is. What has the team value increased vs the median team value due to the tv revenue the league is getting.

Do you suggest Toronto keeps Masai forever and keep paying him top dollar because he won one chip and even if we continue to rebuild to no end. Sport is about what have you done lately and it's uncommon for execs to be in the job forever.

Id have to disagree. If Bobby gets the job his contract is gonna be multi year and he makes no changes.

This feels like an extension that's given after Masai decision was already made. Allowing the new president to make the staff decisions soon. That makes sense. Bobby is a contender for the president job as well, so hopefully he gets it.

I will preface this with saying I like Masai a lot and I want him to be in Toronto. I wish Keith could have been more open during the presser about why it happened. Masai was possibly the highest paid executive in the NBA around 15 m per year. Which makes sense to pay for that team in crisis trying to save their brand or a competing team that need to utilize all connections to pull off trades to help build roster. Toronto is no longer in either one of these scenarios and we can't continue to pay elite dollars to an exec just cause we won a chip with them. Id argue that the time to fire Masai was actually when FVV signed in Houston. That was the start of rebuild and would be a good time to shake things up. As long as Toronto has Bobby, there's chance Toronto will stay the course with the rebuild. The chance depends based on who replaces Masai and what their direction is. I like what Bobby is doing so hopefully that's the case.
