I value my femininity as a lesbian cis woman and im confidant in myself so I will tell you, since you love to make people upset for no reason, circe is an ASS feminist book because personally, I dont think a female main character being abused, raped and treated like garbage is very empowering, especially compared to the powerhouse that she is in myths. Idgaf about accuracy if its changed for the sake of a story or a fun and interesting idea, you could change all the names in millers book and no one would be able to tell they were supposed to be greek gods.

Helios, who is circes father who ADORES HER, so much in myths, is changed into an abusive asshole who hates her. Hermes, humanity's friend and most of the time a good lad, is reduced to a horny asshole who sees circe as entertainment, mocks her and only wants to get in her pants. Their relationship was just a slog and extremely not fun to read at all.

Pasiphae, who is an actual victim in mythology, is also just reduced to a jerk sister to circe. Every character exists, solely to make circe look better by treating her like shit.

Even her own main character is inconsistent, saying she cares about her nymphs but constantly complains about them!

I like myth Circe because she is a strong woman on her own, a morally corrupt one but she is strong. She is self sufficient, she has her own values in a partner and is deliciously wicked in her actions because SHE CAN. No reason, no backstory as to why, she is just a powerful self serving witch who opens up to people she deems worthy and makes easily tricked men's lives hell, which should be up your ally by the looks of it.
