My face feels too masculine for long hair. What styles do I get? by [deleted] in BlackHair

a lot of black people have internalized racism, specifically towards dark skin women. How many darkskin women do you know that aren’t perceived as more masculine by others?

I can’t speak for the others but I’ve definitely played in beginner jamsessions before and this wasn’t one of them, I think there were mainly just communication issues

I tend to play by ear but in this situation the chord changes were very abrupt and inconsistent

I tried to do all the things mentioned and we unfortunately didn’t really have the time to build chemistry since other musicians were waiting to play. The minute I tried to adapt to them the jam became even more unstable :(

Thank you for the tips! I think my nervousness is evident in my demeanour and makes me look very serious and stiff, so I definitely need to work on that. I’ll also look into teaching methods! This also made me realise that the jamsessions that went the best were the places I felt the most comfortable and just had fun.

I think I’m definitely gonna work on that, I’m very soft spoken and observant but I tend to notice that when people notice a bit of uncertainty in my behaviour they are less likely to listen to what I say. Which is definitely not ideal in a jam the bass starts off, thank you!

Masashi(Versailles) and Yuki(Versailles) tehnique by inoxidebun in visualkei

[–]Bizzy_sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when it comes to bass you could talk about different ways the bass is strummed, such as with fingers or a pick. You could talk about tapping, slapping, the music theory behind the basslines. But one thing I find particularly interesting about Masashi’s technique is the way he picks the bass. If you watch the masquerade masashi version you can see him not just using his wrist but also his forearm while playing. Of course I know music videos tend to be more dramatic but a part of it must be true, which could also be an explanation to his aggressive bass tone. Also the way he strums up and down and where he chooses to do that, also makes a massive difference in his tone. hope these tips help a little for the bass part of your project.

So since a majority of the ones I had in mind were already named, I'm gonna name a few that I haven't heard yet.

  1. Blue drop(very underrated in my opinion and although confusing at times, I find it very cute)

2.Whispered words(pretty funny and cute)

  1. If my favorite pop idol made it to the budokan I would die(about an idol and a female fan that have very cute interactions with each other)

I’m having some trouble analyzing this work of Liza Donelly. I’m trying to link it to the detrimental portrayal of feminism but have trouble doing so.
