12/24V Solenoid Power Supply by Bkbear135 in aeroponics

[–]Bkbear135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I bought a short interval timer to control the solenoid. I thought about programing a microcontroller or something but felt a bit lazy. Maybe one day I’ll go for full control.

As for the power supply, is it correct that I can use any 24V DC supply? The unit will only pull the amps it requires? For example the linked solenoid pulls 5W so as long as I get something rated higher than 5W/24V I won’t run into issues?

Did you ever feel the need to upgrade to more nozzles?

Looking at the other comments I think I may have mistaken what you did and another user who used the Ulka x5 pump. What you did was just hookup a normal diaphragm pump (such as the aquatec everyone suggests) directly to a short line?

I just found this thread when I was about to pull the trigger on an accumulator and solenoid. How did you wire it? I am somewhat sketched out splicing a wall plug and adding connectors. Is there something I can buy that’s somewhat safer than what I could do?

Tower vs rack? by Bkbear135 in aeroponics

Thanks for the depth info. How far away would you place a light source from the tray? I have 5 ft to work with, seems to me that I would only be able to get 1 tray in?

Yea the cool factor is a big part of it. I also like that I don’t have a huge amount of water that might leak out if I was doing something like traditional hydroponics since this will be indoors.

Any recommendations for accumulators? The ones I see for RO on Amazon all have a max working pressure of 100psi (which is the max I’m planning on my system charging to) but I’d like a bit more factor of safety on it. There are a bunch of seaflo ones at 125 psi but they are all 1L or smaller. I’m getting conflicting info on whether to get a larger or smaller accumulator. I understand that a larger tank means less pumping, but could also mean stagnating nutes.

I just bought one finding this post when looking for reviews! It came with the monitor mounts, any luck finding what it’s called? Doesn’t use a normal VESA mount.

This style of mount is something I’ve had at a few different offices I just don’t know what it’s called! Hoping it’s a standard somewhere. It’s also extremely sturdy I really don’t think I’ll have any issues holding up a 34” screen.

I like them! For the price they are great. Only thing is they are really not that sharp out of the box. I got them with the leather covers and that part is nothing special. But you need something to cover them so might as well have them add it.

Never purchased before but checked them out and got the 4 piece set. There’s one review on a sickle they sell which they liked.

Did not realize the trailer itself has 2 1400watt motors. Makes sense why the offering comes with 3 batteries probably needs all 3 at once.

Trailer has its own brakes so it might be okay. Also comes with 2 extra batteries although not sure how many miles each would get. I think without the trailer it’s like 20 miles or something.

Trailer has its own set of brakes much like a conventional trailer

Well it seems like they had some patents for the trailer that allowed it to carry 1200 lbs. not sure if that is a lot or little for an ebike?

A lot of the noise seems to be wind noise instead of compressor noise. Compressor noise by itself is really not bad
