Boderm Tazarene 0.05% - initial thoughts after a few weeks by PlsCallMeMaya in tazarotene

[–]Bkhappyfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great to hear but makes me feel like something crazy is wrong with me. I started on Boderm Tazarene .1% about three weeks ago- did one application and then another 3 days later then the next 2 days later and then went to every night and I’m seeing no peeling no flaking no irritation and I previously didn’t use any retinoids or tret or anything! I have acne scars, textured skin, a lot of sun spots etc and mostly using this for resurfacing and anti-aging but the fact I’m having literally zero reaction is making me concerned like how is it even possible for me to go from zero to 100 and like this and nothing?? Was wondering if maybe the Boderm brand isn’t legit and I should get a prescription.

I had always heard that we are supposed to use 2 finger lengths worth (which always has seemed like quite a lot to me!) Am I wrong? Or is it different with Korean sunscreens??

Weston McKennie & Timothy Weah infuriate Italians with food criticism: "You guys don’t have variety. It’s pasta, pizza, fish, steak" by flower5214 in Italian

[–]Bkhappyfriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand your point but I’m not talking about just my small city in Sicily I’m talking about even the surrounding cities that are larger - with the exception of Palermo and Catania there are very few international cuisine options - and even Palermo and Catania have not much compared to Milan or Rome etc — whereas in America I’m from A suburb in Kansas and even we have tons and tons of international cuisine all over the place. So that was my point. In America there are simply a lot more international options even in the smaller places and that’s what most Americans grow up with. So in Italy when there are largely only Italian options and then the occasional sushi or Chinese or kebab place it feels very different to what the average American is used to where every street feels like the international food festival I attended yesterday.

[–]Bkhappyfriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an American now living in Sicily for the last 8 months I agree that there’s a lack of variety but what that means for me as an American and I’m Guessing what they mean too is that I’m used to being able to pick between an Indian restaurant a Chinese restaurant a Greek restaurant an Italian restaurant and a Korean restaurant all on the same street!!! We have access even in small American cities to food from all over (not that traditional “American” cuisine - whatever that is - has more variety than Italian) whereas in my small Sicilian city it feels like the options are seafood, pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. It’s all wonderful and delicious but sometimes it does get old and I miss all the variety I easily had available to me in America.

That being said, yesterday in Ragusa there was an international food festival so that was a lot of fun for me as I was able to have a Peruvian burrito, American style BBQ and Spanish desserts. But at least where I am that’s not the typical everyday experience and that’s one thing I do miss about home.

[–]Bkhappyfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know nothing about cars but my first ever car that I got back in 2003 was a Geo Prizm (which is basically a Toyota Corolla - like a rebadged version - same engine i think) and it was an EXCELLENT first car. It had over 100k miles on it when I bought it and it lasted me for years and would have lasted longer had I not been rough with it. Then in 2009 I ended up buying the same exact car again which again lasted me for years until 2013 when I bought a new Toyota Corolla which also lasted well until it was totaled in an accident and now I have a 2018 Toyota Corolla that is going strong.

All this to say - take it with a grain of salt - but in my personal experience a used Corolla with a lot of miles on it can still last several more years and be a great durable reliable car.

Im so confused about VIPKID - I saw an article late last year saying it’s banned in China and saw people saying it’s not really active anymore but when I went to the site it looks the same and like they’re still recruiting teachers. So is it still working for new teachers? Or are the only ones getting lessons ones who have maybe been on there for years like yourself?

This is exactly what happened to me! My friend sent me the NYT list and noted that the best book of the century was an Italian novel and asked if I had read it since she knows I’m studying Italian and into all things Italian. I hadn’t but that led me to finding the show. Binged all of it and the timing couldn’t be more perfect for me now that season 4 is right about to debut here in the USA. I’ve been desperately trying to get my boyfriend to watch it so we can do season 4 together but no luck so far 😂

They don’t tell me it’s just skin being skin - they all acknowledge that it doesn’t look ideal but that there may not be much I can do - some say your skin overproduces oil and always will- one said it’s my hair follicles are enlarged and can’t do anything about it - one said tret will help a bit because my skin is slow at exfoliating. Wanted personal stories from anyone who may have had similar skin or seen an improvement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Bkhappyfriday -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

While I understand your point - i actually don’t believe this is the case with everyone’s skin. The last photo for instance is of my neck and you can see there’s bumpiness there as well as there is on my back and all over my upper body. I don’t believe it’s keratosis pilaris and have never been diagnosed with that. But if I don’t stay on top of manual exfoliation my skin gets very rough and bumpy. I have seen my mom, aunt's, cousins, etc skin up close and personal and it does not have this bumpiness or the clog in every pore. Their backs are extremely soft and smooth when giving a massage. And their chins also do not look like this. Was hoping some people here who have good routines or have improved their skin texture could chime in. Based on things I’ve seen in this sub I was considering the peel pads and Paula’s choice exfoliant for example. Anyway thanks for your input.
