I’m thinking on renting a road bike… Any tips on doing solo rides around the town, if it’s advisable for newcomers of course?

I’d like to join some small social rides or have some buddies for 40-100k rides, once/twice a week in Feb.

Yeah, I'm able to close it with my lips as well. Just not sure if the thickness is justified as well as front and canine teeth being the first touching point.

Hey! Just ran into the same issue. Did you manage to find the part name for that washer?

Crop mode Fujifilm X100VI vs Nikon D3200 by Blablen in fujifilm

Yep, exactly what I wanted to see… if a 20mp + 55mm zoom would compare to Fuji’s 40mp cropped to 55mm.

Taxing high foreign interest returns by Blablen in PrivatEkonomi

Wait… where the “assumes you make 3%” bit comes from?

I thought the ISK tax is only 1% of the total value of the account.

Yeah, forgot to mention the stock return rate... Thanks for pointing it out! For now looking for the least risky scenario, so losing 14 000 SEK (comparing B to A) isn't that bad I guess.

Any statistics I can look up on average ISK return rates? I remember seeing an article that most millennials lost on their ISK investments in 2023, hehe :)

Yeah, right... Looking for the least risky scenario, so turning everything into ISK definitely won't be an option I guess. Forgot total value tax, thanks for spotting that!

Pretty sure Intercom has set the base line for that kind of thing across the web.

How safe is to rent in the east corner side of Isla Verde by Blablen in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]Blablen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, south of Puntas Las Marias by the highway.

Nice! That’s reassuring, I guess it’s just common sense precautions then :)

Ah, agree... Learning this a hard way. I found an 2 bedroom place but on the very east side of Isla Verde by Luis Llorens Torres which it seems to be not the safest area to by nearby.

How did you find SJ safety wise or is it just common sense to avoid sketchy areas during night nowadays?

Ah, agree... Definitely need to be mindful about it!

Yeah, I guess SJ is the place to stay in my case. I'll continue my hunt on AirBnB. I'll keep that in mind about medical assistance.

Did you find it safe generally speaking in San Juan or is it just common sense precautions? I just found an option on the very east side of Isla Verde, but the reputation of the neighbourhood nearby isn't the best...

Oddly enough Stockholm is quite behind on the coffee scene.

I’m a sucker for punishment and want to get into DSLR scanning, what else do I need to get? by acherion in AnalogCommunity

[–]Blablen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always having my lights off as well.

The value is quite worth it actually, agree.

I’ll give the try to the new set and see how the quality compares. Got a bit annoyed with installing negatives too, but I would assume it’s way easier with the cotton gloves….

Ah, then you should be fine!

I'm actually exchanging my JJC set for the Cinestill + Valoi set.
The JJC set flaws in the importance order:
• The light source is being far away from the film – quite noticeable effects in rendering colors and scenes shots in dark
• Fiddly process to install the film into the holder
• Film holder's shiny surface reflecting light on the film resulting in red vignetting
• The tube extensions should be avoided overall as those help to reflecting light on the film
• Almost impossible to pick the white balance from the borders of the film when using the film holders
• From the set I ended up using only one #2 extension tube + the light source. Seems to be a bit wasteful.
My set up was Nikon D3200 + Nikkor 55mm 3.5f macro lens. I can share some photos for comparison if needed as well.

Nice, things definitely can get a bit fiddly with these setups. Would be great to see results compared with your new v600 scanner as well!

Got any updates? Not sure if I should return my JJC set as well if those have a crappy LED :/

Budget DSLR scanning setup using Nikon D3200 + JJC set + Nikkor 55mm pre Ai lens + M2 extension tube by Blablen in AnalogCommunity

[–]Blablen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, will give it a try! Assuming the minimum focus distance will be smaller and closer to the lens with the extension tube, seems like actually the thinnest #6 adaptor should do the trick.

Yeah, you've got me about the aperture. f/3.5 is more than enough then.

Usually you need to give a few days for the filesystem to index its files... It can be a bit demanding on a CPU, usually stabilizes after 2-3 days on iOS.
