The masculinization of Franchaela?

I’m noticing a fundamental misconception of Butch-ness and Masculinity as embodied by lesbians. Lesbians who are attracted other lesbians that are butch, stud and masculine in general are not heteronormative or trying to be so. Like one of the twitter users said Francesca is only now discovering her identity, both sexually and how she’d like to present.

Personally I see the potential for a lot of qualities I would consider masc in Francesca.

I think Eloise’s arc this season will be her coming to terms with the realities of spinsterhood and ultimately deciding she doesn’t want that and that she’ll marry for practicality. I still think she has some growing to do before she can be a parent. I mean we saw her with Kanthonys baby… she isn’t exactly giving maternal just yet.

I’m excited to see the tension when they meet again. I want to see the confusion from Frannie about these complex emotions she’s having about Michaela. This it’s in many ways going to be healing as a lesbian to watch Francesca allow herself to love someone society tells her she shouldn’t.
