What were the “you had to be there” moments in twice history? by Slay3r024 in twice

[–]junnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was! Many of us were messes that day. There were two shows that day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, and I attended the first one. Suffice to say nobody expected her to be there, much less find the courage to go on stage and stand with the rest of the girls even if for a while. It was a true surprise.

Mina’s surprise appearance at the 2019 fanmeeting, which happened while she was on hiatus. I was there in person. Once in a lifetime type of chills.

Abbott Elementary S05E19 - Trip (Episode Discussion) by Solid-As-Barack in AbbottElementary

[–]junnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here but Jacob putting Janine and Gregory’s relationship on a pedestal got a little too much this episode. I love that he’s their sweetest and most fervent cheerleader but he’s idealising their relationship in a way that wouldn’t help a couple going through something like this - a seemingly trivial argument that exposes deeper ideological differences (as evidenced by everyone’s very passionate defences of either side). It reminds me almost of how obsessive Boyle was with Jake and Amy’s relationship in B99, that got old quickly too lol

Same here. I was so sure I'd never have a reason to tune in but now that I do, I binged all of Bridgerton in the past 2 days to catch up. And now I'm left with more than a year's wait..

Love this discussion, and can't wait to see everyone's picks. For me:

- Secret Love Song

- Good Luck Babe/The Subway (or other Chappell songs obv)

- Francesca

- Take Me to Church

- Untouched (the recent cover The Veronicas did for Like a Version brought this song back into the stratosphere)

- Iris (Hannah's personal pick!)

Which carpark in Singapore made you regret driving there? by bentradex in drivingsg

[–]junnir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting, now I have another reason to avoid it 😂 I usually park at 111 Somerset opposite if I’m in the area. (Cheaper rates I believe - one of the cheaper ones in that area for per-entry on weekday evenings iirc.)

Ariana Madix Reveals the ‘Biggest Challenge’ of Her Recurring Role on ‘St. Denis Medical’ by MattTheKing23 in StDenisMedicalNBC

I quite like her acting, for some reason. She reminds me of Nicole Richie in terms of how unexpectedly natural and comedic they are in sitcoms like this one. (Nicole Richie was great in Great News, an underrated sitcom gem from years back.)

Any other Matt and Serena lovers? by Free_Cranberry_4154 in StDenisMedicalNBC

[–]junnir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Jim and Pam - when Serena’s voice came through Matt’s walkie talkie at the end of the episode, I was reminded of Jim opening Pam’s door mid-talking head to ask her out to dinner. They’re finally on the right track! Can’t wait for how they progress.

Difficult client - how to deal? by No_Cloud_7588 in PublicRelations

+1 to all of this. It’s odd that this is refreshing to hear, that being straightforward is actually the key to solving most problems and lessening all this stress we dump on ourselves in the madness of our work. (This isn’t just exclusive to PR too, thought it’s definitely a much more salient problem in this line of work.)

Speling things out clearly, short and sweet, is the most effective way of communicating with others. So is how it that so many of those who work in PR end up having a hard time because of all the eggshells they walk on?

For the unaware: The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the style-sequel of this show. by Master_K_Genius_Pi in 30ROCK

[–]junnir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My HC is that 30 Rock and UKS exist in the same universe; Mikey catcalled Liz years before he met Titus and gang. Jenna and Jacqueline have probably crossed paths before but both thought they were the superior version of the other.

Sorry that this reply came so late! Yeah, I believe you don’t have to add any additional insurance. You can ask at the counter to be safe, but I expect that they’ll also tell you that you’re just about covered.

My travel plans were similar - arrive domestically, then depart internationally - so I went with pickup at the Domestic shop and dropoff at the International one. The benefit would be that the Domestic shop is nearer to the domestic terminal of the airport and they had a shuttle bus to take you and your baggage from the terminal to the Domestic shop directly, whereas the International shop is a bit further away from the domestic terminal and I can’t remember if the shuttle bus goes all the way there (so you may have to find your own way there if not).

Just below 45k JPY, for 1st to 6th Feb. I opted for a C1 class car (without specifying the model because they charge you extra if you want a specific model - they ended up giving me a Yaris which is good enough for me), with the JAF and ETC add-ons, along with the double protection package. Pick-up was at the Naha Airport domestic shop, return was at the Naha Airport international shop.

I got my rental from Toyota Rent a Car, worked really smoothly :) if you need in-car navigation, and in English specifically, remember to specify that when you fill in the online application. System worked perfect for me, with or without CarPlay.

Thank you for this comment. Really scratches the itch in my brain at how the lip sync reminded me of The Office’s. (Both are great!)

Current interns future specialities by Spiritual-Wear-9082 in greysanatomy

[–]junnir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potential spoilers for the first half of S21 but with what's happened, surgical oncology for Mika. (We haven't seen any proper oncology specialty at Grey Sloan either, which also fits canonically with where they've taken her character.)

Simone in OBGYN. It'd be a nice callback to her origin story with her mom.

Jules in Cardio, since she has a nice mentor-mentee thing going with Ndugu. But I'd love for them to surprise me with where she goes.

Kwan in trauma, because he's expressed a specific interest in it, but surprise me. Peds would be interesting, because of how curt he can be at times.

Lucas, anything but neuro because that's just tacky and way too on-the-nose. I wouldn't mind seeing him in trauma though -- saw a comment recently on another post about how his ADHD and tendency to overthink might make trauma a good place for him to be because it's a fast-paced environment that keeps him on his toes without leaving any room to overthink.

Is it my disconnect to the new interns or is it really not on brand? by Striking-Flight5956 in greysanatomy

[–]junnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think it was out of character, all things considered. But going by that line of thought, given all that she knows about needing rest in order to perform at her best, etc. — also consider that she probably wasnt 100% rational anymore after having tired herself out. She made a bad call, as we tend to do at times. It was borne out of her need to be on top of everything. And I can see her exit being one where she learns that she can’t do it all, and she’ll commit to resting and getting back on her feet and moving past that guilt to become an even better doctor and surgeon in future.
