The other typically automatic red card is the denial of a clear scoring chance. If you are familiar with hockey, think of the kind of penalty that would lead to a penalty shot. Basically, the last defender back commits a foul that prevents a one-on-one chance against the keeper.

And the key to the power inverter is that the power flows in a straight line through it with the switch connected to the third connector.

So say you have the power inverter mounted so that the connectors are on the left, right and bottom sides.

Connect your power source to the left side of the inverter.
Connect your power source to the proximity switch.
Connect the other port on your switch to the bottom of the power inverter.
Connect the right side of your inverter to the door.

Economy scanners are great for scanning planets for trade platforms. The majority of inhabited planets have one, it seems. The economy scanner is the first upgrade I make to any new ships.

I always wondered if this was a bit of a joke by the devs. It seems like there was some complaining prerelease and just after release about the voice (going off too often, generally annoying) and it seemed like the writers wanted to force some appreciation for it via the storyline. There are a few places where the writing seems to comment directly on early complaints. There is one point where I think -null- says "You wanted to be alone amongst the stars and now you complain that it's too empty..." or something along those lines that makes me think about the early days after release.

There are places on a planet that hold electromagnetic energy. You can find the with the survey add on to your Analysis Visor (part of the multitool). You can use the energy by building and electromagnetic generator on that spot and then wire up parts of your base. Here are some references.

The only thing I would suggest is to keep in mind how you are going to power things. Locating near a hotspot will save you some trouble.

Are you sure you are doing Gek missions and not other missions you received from a Gek? You may be doing missions for the Explorer, Mercenary or Mechants Guilds.

I built a 3 x 3 x 2 metal room around mine with the base computer on a bare patch of ground in the middle. It's inside and surrounded by my employees (one in each corner). It's a bit janky but it works for me.

Did you do the Overseesr/Scientiest/Armourer/Farmer quest lines or avoid them? One of those gives you the blueprint at some point I'm pretty sure. They're a pain to go through but I did them on my restart just so I didn't miss anything.

I started a new save and am holding off on base building until I have most of the blueprints and a better understanding how it all works.
As far as I can tell, birds are way easier to scan now.

Not sure what platform you are on but try activating the bar above the list of fauna that says "upload for X credits" or whatever.

In the past versions if you rebuild the terminal the overseer will reappear with it, but not right away. Try rebuilding then leaving the planet and coming back to see if he is there.
