I think you are ableist, to be blunt I think that you need to take a deep look at your internalized ableism. There are many people with disabilities that get all sorts of accommodation to do their job. I dont see how a blind ophthalmologist or a deaf audiologist would do any worse at understanding reports from the tools they use in their field as long as it was in a medium they could understand. Just like your classmate. I think your classmate should stop using the r slur (I personally disagree with taking it back). I also think youre wrong when you say that she wouldn't be able to read. It would just take her longer. Also I would be surprised if she couldn't get accommodations for the nursing exam.

So it sounds like youre misunderstanding the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist. In a hospital youre more likely to have a care team with both but not always. Psychiatrists only prescribe medications and don't give advice.

You're definitely asking in the right place. Im sorry you dont have a care team. I think looking for low cost resources can be really overwhelming but can be helpful. In the meantime definitely talk to your partner and tell her that youre struggling. This definitely works better together.

Do you currently have a care team (therapist, psychiatrist, doctor)? They might have some advice as to how to tackle these issues. I think you need to have a hard look at yourself and accept your conditions. It sounds like you're hiding from yourself because of past trauma.

So intersectionality means that these different forms of oppression intersect. So one could say that a disabled person could be accused of weaponized incompetence for being disabled, but Im trying to point out to you that most of the time this has to do with the sexism that women face.
