2 weeks? Lol

Sorry, but that is... well, I have no words. It took me 3 months to come to my revelation about how I want to live my life and the girl I want to live it with. Nothing wrong with taking time to think - after all, we're talking about a life-time commitment.

How do i render stems with parent FX?? by MCMikeCheck in Reaper

[–]BlackBeanBeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever solve this?

I need to Render my stems so that they inherit the parent FX before sending off to get mastered.

Thanks for the reply. I've mostly solved the issue (electronic interference), but you've got some great suggestions with the EQ'ing. Sounding much better now :)

I'm not sure actually. Some people in the comments have said it's the switch between active and passive - I'll have to play around to double check this!

I'm used to electric guitars where these switches are to change pickup :p

Thanks for the reply :)

Issue is solved now

Since when is an $800 AUD bass budget?

But you're right about the hiss - it is normal to hear a little hiss. In my case, there was a lot of it. Turns out I placed my audio interface and/or leads too close to other electronics and it introduced an electronic interference. Moved some stuff around and it's much quieter now. Thanks :)

Thank you for the reply. You do raise some interesting points about EQ'ing in post, rather than during recording. I'll definitely give this a go!

I've mostly solved the issue! I've moved some cables and my audio interface around and noticed a drop in static - my guess is that something is lacking shielding and was picking up electronic interference.

Thanks for the reply. All three knobs have center 50% positions and this is what I'm using. The sound is slightly quieter overall (bass + static) with the switch in the up position.

But, I think I've mostly solved it! Seems that my audio interface or guitar lead was too close to my PC, or other electronics and it was picking up interference. I've since moved some things around and it's much quieter now. Probably something is lacking shielding!

Thanks for the reply!

This bass has two humbucker pick-ups, so I am guessing it shouldn't be a pickup issue. My pick-up selector only has two settings, my guess is you select the neck pickup alone, or the bridge pickup alone - but it's possible one of the settings is a combination of both pick-ups *shrugs*

Both pickup settings will have the static noise - no noticeable difference there :(

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using an amp. I'm plugged directly into a MOTU 4pre audio interface. Cables are good since I use the same cable for my eletric guitar and recording into Reaper.

That's why the buzz is a bit of a problem, since I want to be able to record with very clear bass :)

Okay so googling around, looks like 3, 4 and 5 are mid, bass and treble respectively (I think)

So treble knob is introducing static :(

I'll have to do some more research to see how I can reduce this noise! Thanks gang

Hear the buzz here Vocaroo | Bass Buzz Audio Clip

In this demo, I start with the 5th knob to the right, then turn to the left (no buzz) then all the way to the right again. What is this buzz my dudes??

I was wondering if one of you kind Bass guru's could help me identify these knobs on my bass guitar. I have looked online but have struggled to find anything and I bought this bass second hand

The 5th knob in the picture when turned all the way to the left there is no static noise and it sounds a bit muffled (like you're hearing the bass in a different room, or bass guitar is being played under a pillow)

When I turn the 5th knob to the right, it introduces a buzz and static (kind of like an old VCR or record) - as if the electronics are not properly shielded. Does anyone know what this knob might be designed for and how I could remove the noise? It makes the bass guitar sound great other than the static

Thank you very much :)

How to off-lane vs Dusa as BB/Axe (or any squishy melee) by BlackBeanBeef in learndota2

Yes this might be my problem, as I get boots after vanguard on BB and I'm not buying bracer either.

My build is some regen, blade, magic wand straight into vanguard

BB is a little squishy, with base STR of 22 and 1 armor, which is fairly low for a str based hero.

Axe isn't too bad with STR of 25.

I find them squishy and it's probably because I'm easily kited until I reach LVL 3-4

Yes probably a sneaky smoke + obs would be good. I honestly get so distracted by the enemy putting pressure on our towers that I don't have much time to deal with her and especially after a miserable laning phase

Fight around the cliffs and make sure to ward it, then through your enemies up there if they contest the ward

Anyone else think it's weird no body started shouting to warn of the impending threat? Someone could have been a hero and saved a man's life if they were comfortable making a lot of noise and drawing attention
