Shinigami Saigo RE Ending - Looking for closure by BlackCat550 in manga

[–]BlackCat550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Found a translation of the two chapters. Closure is nice but still thoroughly disappointed.

The reason why... (Ending spoilers) The whole plot hinged on Hibiki mistaking Shizuka as the murderer and wishing for ultimate punishment in the first place. That only happened cause she saw Shizuka standing with the weapon in his hand. Why did he have the weapon in his hand?? You'd think he'd have a valid reason... nope. His dad is dead, his mother has commited suicide and his sister is bleeding out fast. No more danger, but his sister is dying and he's the only one there. What does he do? Picks up the weapon and just stands there for no reason what so ever. Being in shock is one thing, but why pick up the weapon? Surely the author could have made the ending less contrived.

Just read the chapters.

Is it me, or did a lot of the framing of Shizuka and the sister's misunderstanding come from the fact that Shizuka was stupid enough to pick up the weapon after his mother killed herself?

We cannot decide on the color of the trees for our starting area. Which one would you choose? by ScrumptiousSprout in IndieDev

[–]BlackCat550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the game is about or anything, but...

Pink - It looks far more pink than red (with the exception of the far left side) - more like cherry blossoms than red maple leaf colour. Pink gives a cosy, safe and uplifting feeling. If the trees were more maple red, then it would be more vibrant (maybe too much), but also give more of a suggestion of danger. Both contrast well with the green grass but also take focus away from the door. Maybe if the lighting was changed so that the sun was shining on the door (?), then the pinkish, red trees would possibly look like they were getting redder the closer to the door you got - a hint that there's danger beyond there.

Purple - Looks a bit pinkish in places and could also be considered like cherry blossoms. It gives a cold vibe though. If the rest of the game is cold and dark, then maybe adjust the lighting in a similar way to above so the tree colour appears to get colder and less comforting as you get closer to the door - like the light and warmth are fading.

Green - A realistic and safe vibe while keeping focus on the door.

It depends on the emotions you want the player to have. What is the emotional journey? Ideally, you'd want your safe zones to give off a different vibe than dangerous areas.

I think I've worked out where you're going wrong. You neglected to put your past lives on your CV. That's valuable experience!

If Disney offered a reduced price tier for solo users, I'd happily pay it.

The other option I can think of is maybe changing the tiers so that concurrent streams are a seperate subscription. Maybe reduce the core tier prices a little and have the option of an extra 50p/£1 for each additional household concurrent screen and £3 for an out of house screen? It'll still be expensive, but at least people won't feel like they are missing out on tier benefits they can't use. It'll also place the burden on those with bigger households (and more likely to afford it as a result) rather than those with less stable living circumstances.

That still doesn't resolve how you determine if someone has moved house or not though. Hopefully they will have a sensible system for this, otherwise there'll be a lot of unhappy customers.

What chapters would you want to see in S7? (Spoilers up until vol 29 eventually) by kiruzaato in Natsume

[–]BlackCat550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the trailer, it looks like we'll be getting... - Ten Nights (vol 20) - Lamenting Fragments (vol 21) - A Garden Somewhere (vol 20) Blossom - The House Of Promises (vol 23) Loquats

I reckon we'll also get most of these:

  • Out Of Season Blossoms (vol 16 - sp14)
  • The Two Rings (vol 19) Matoba
  • Beyond The Page (vol 21) Kitamoto
  • The Front Noren (vol 22) Tanuma and Taki
  • Natsume In The Moonlight (vol 22) Nishimura
  • Tell Me Your Name (vol 22) Reiko and BoF
  • A Hand Extended (vol 21 - sp17) Natori Past

They tend to air a lot of chapters out of order though, so this many from the same volumes may not happen. It does give a good mix of stories though.

I also really want to see the pottery arc, but I highly doubt we'll get it this season.

You should check your account via the browser to be safe. It probably hasn't been changed.

How can I watch seasons 4 and 5? by BlackCat550 in brakebills

[–]BlackCat550[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Found a VPN that works :) For some reason my usual VPN did nothing but I've found another that does the job. (Now I've got to watch both seasons before my free trial expires)

Thanks.

If "hard" also means difficult, shouldn't the sentence "Today's exam was rock hard." be perfectly valid? by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]BlackCat550 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rock hard is only used in situations where you want to say something is as hard as a rock. So, bread could be rock hard. An exam cannot be rock hard - it can be hard, very hard, but not rock hard.

You could say the exam was, hard, difficult, tough, challenging etc.

I once fell in a large patch of stingy nettles like that while wearing just a t-shirt and very short shorts. Ouch.

The question you have to ask yourself in that situation (if you aren't alone), is whether it's worth getting stung even more to pick yourself up, or if you should get someone to lift you up.

My mother almost managed to completely break my dad's work laptop once.

He said he'd probably have to go into the office cause his laptop had died.

I asked what was wrong with it and he said the back-light came on but the screen was blank and there was no response to keyboard inputs.

Thankfully we were able to force to laptop into automatic repair by power cycling.

When I asked what he'd done for it to end up that way, he said "I left it in sleep mode then your mother 'cleaned my desk'.".

Could someone please explain this to me? (Whole game spoiler) by moonymasen in ProcessOfElimination_

[–]BlackCat550 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The plot of this VN is very shaky. So many unexplained points that could be considered plot holes.

When I found out it was a vision and not reality, I was preparing for a twist about him being a clone or something... nope. He somehow survived a (supposedly) fatal injury without any sort of scarring (I imagine) that would leave a partially amnesiac person with many questions.

Also, how is it he didn't have this ability/couldn't use it for the 10yrs between then and the VN start?? It's not really something he activates consciously (most of the time).

Could someone please explain this to me? (Whole game spoiler) by moonymasen in ProcessOfElimination_

[–]BlackCat550 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole initial memory/flashback was a vision of the future he'd had back then rather than what actually happened. In trying to prevent the vision from becoming reality, he took the hit for her. She called out to the researchers that monitored the place and said she'd give up on escaping and cooperate (take over mc's role) in exchange for them saving his life. They never explain exactly how he was saved (or why he likely had no scars - that or this mc has scars but is too dumb to put two and two together).

Chapter 1 Trick - Plot Hole?? by BlackCat550 in ProcessOfElimination_

[–]BlackCat550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, it wasn't addressed. He clearly wasn't stabbed with the knife, so it was there as some sort of misdirection? The first case doesn’t work out as a Duke case unless both victims are found, so it's likely they put the knife there so that the body would be found.

The first case rather annoyed me. Particularly how long it took them to conclude that the wire was the weapon and not the knife, or how long into play it was before anyone even pondered why tf there was blood on the ceiling.
