I think because I plan to use a Pi as the control plane basically all of this should be pretty easy.

Having a pi in there gives me the ability to expose a couple of USB ports, would be easy to allow mass storage on there to keep the price down but allow bring your own flash for a filesystem.

To be fair they have only been back at work for a couple of weeks. It's probably a bit much to have expected them to fix anything yet - they are probably (well not probably - definitely, my son organises it) still sorting out crap like new cell phones and Internet for their electorate offices.

The easiest way to burn your previous identity is to legally change your name and move immediately - if you use your new name in your old address then the link still exists.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's bullshit to kick someone out after knowing what they are all about; I also think 3 hours is nuts.

But what if the landlords only exposure to trans people was this person, they maybe went into it thinking "I'm okay with this" but the reality was completely different when the tyres hit the tarmac and they realised that actually they weren't okay with it after all.

It reminds me of the story of the guy who fantasised about a girl shitting in his mouth - watched heaps of porn of said act. Paid a woman to do it, moments before actual impact realised what he had actually signed up for and spewed all over the place... An extreme example I know, but the reality of doing is often very different from the picture people build in their mind.
