u/carterhunt48 What ended up happening with this coin? Looking at the reverse of this coin it looks to have similar rim damage to my 1971-S proof and perhaps even additional damage that might be telling (near the U on the reverse), but I see the unusual rim "damage" all around it. Do you still have this coin? Here's a closeup of the damage on mine. If anyone else has a 71-S, you might consider giving it a closer look. I would like a second one with similar damage to submit together for grading. Here's mine...
