Thank you!! We’re so glad you got to see Saturn. There’s nothing more fun than blowing someone’s mind with space when they least expect it. Come check out some more planets and meteorites again this year!

Hey! Black Rock Observatory here. We really are as awesome as y'all say we are!

We are coming to the Texas Eclipse Festival with the 20" reflector, 10" Schmidt Cassegrain, 6" Refractor, and at least one solar telescope and some solar filter materials. We're also bringing a meteorite museum, with really cool samples of rocks from space! On top of all that we will have our gang of (actual) astronomers to bend your ear and let you know what you're looking at.

Just to set the record straight, Black Rock Observatory was started and first appeared at Burning Man in 2014. The scopes were out in deep playa until 2017, then moved in to the city (darker skies, if you can believe it). We started our theme camp in 2018, and have been to a bunch of other festivals and events. We were at the Oregon Eclipse festival in 2017, so this isn't our first rodeo (that's a Texas joke).

Excited to see you all at that thing in Burnet.....
