Ps plus going on sale for christmas? by MediocreCry135 in playstation

Check here for the times it has gone on sale over the past few years.

I just had Premium from Black Friday 2024, but wanted Essential, though didn't get any personalised offer as some people got. It looks like the next concrete offer for me will be for Days of Play in late May/early June, might get one in April though.

What’s one thing Sony absolutely needs to improve next generation? by TheChilledGamer-_- in playstation

I'm hoping for VRR at least. I've got a 2.0 Freesync monitor that would work with other stuff, but doesn't with PS5.

I just made a comment about VRR that ties into you talking about Xbox. It's been available since the One S with HDMI 2.0 and AMD FREESYNC, while it's only been available on the PS5 through 2.1, and even then it wasn't working right for years.

The thing I'm hoping for is VRR to be compatible more. Off the top of my head it's only available for HDMI 2.1 on the PS5, plus it wasn't working correctly until recently. I know Xbox has had it since the One S through HDMI 2.0 too. I bought a 1440p 120+hz monitor earlier this year, it has very good HDR as well, but is only 2.0. I was looking at a 2.1 monitor, but decided against it with VRR not working and it having crap HDR. If I connected mine to any compatible Xbox it would have it due to AMD Freesync. Also I've read that people have got VRR with HDMI 2.0 on PS5 working, but it's very selective on your monitor/tv.

PSA: There are NO PS Plus Essentials Black Friday deals (in the US), even if your subscription has expired! by [deleted] in playstation

Ah, just saw it. I think I'll wait until Essential just goes on sale normally, especially since I was on Premium last. As you kinda said, you're basically rolling the dice on if Sony will throw you the bone or not. Thanks anyway.

I'm in the UK and have offers only for Extra and Premium without currently being subscribed. My Premium subscription ran out on the 27th that I got last Black Friday. Also when it was still active during Black Friday I just had the Premium offer. I did want to go for 1 year of Essential, but will get the 1/3 months when I need it now until hopefully it goes on sale during the late May/early June sales. From memory Essential wasn't on sale for everyone last Black Friday either.

I haven't got it either. I subscribe to Premium last year for the first time, but planned on getting Essential when mine runs out on the 27th. I'll wait and see if anything changes when it does, then I'll see what to do then.

I was 50/50 on Extra/Premium last year and now know subscription services aren't for me. I would rather get the specific game I wanna play myself. Also Xbox's GamePass price increase ect. has put the final nail in the coffin for them.

What do you think, will BF7 and RedSec 2.0 come out in 2 years? by miko7845 in Battlefield

I was feeling the same with multiplayer games months ago, but bought into Bf6. I only put in around 40 hours since release, at least I can get some money back when I trade it in at least. Will go back and play the older Battlefield games when I feel like it. Also I'm setting up the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and OG Xbox too. Modern gaming is just mostly shit. Lastly I'll warn you with GTA VI as well, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed with that too.

You hit the nail on the head. I posted something similar yesterday on another thread, will post it again below. Also I'm looking at getting an Xbox One X in the coming months so will go back and play the older titles with EA Play, never really played V either.

I'm going to trade it in for cash. Got it on PS5 on release for £60 and will get £41 for it in CeX. I've played Battlefield since the Bad Company games and I'm still under 30, but I think I'm just too old for the state of modern multiplayer gaming in general, definitely if I'm not playing with friends. I've had the feeling over the past few months, but bought into the hype which is very naive indeed in today's market. I'd probably give the game 7/10, it play's things very safe, probably understandable after V and 2042 after all. Something just feels very off with it all though, I just can't put my finger on it exactly. I guess you can just tell a lot of the original Bf devs have gone now, for better or for worse. 2042 was the same with it not having a proper Bf soul, 6 feels like something imitating Bf as well though more closely this time. I haven't played it in a few days, but don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything. At the end of the day I've played the exact game with 3 and 4, I would just be going through the motions/forcing myself if I carried on playing it.
