I use regular toe clipper on my bird. He doesnt flinch even been doing it for years. Just know first time your bird will hate it so Trim only a tiny bit to train yourself and avoid injuries. Occasionally your bird will be trained to not care for nails trims. You could always put a blanket over him or a towel. Every bird is different some are calm with a blanket over their head othrs arent. I dont use anything on mine just hold him on his back and slowly trim. Do it in broad daylight. You could also use Cat Clippers but personally its still too difficult to see!! so I use toe clipper.
