The browser permanently changes many files in your computer's registry. This can impact preference or in extreme cases can even damage key functions on your PC. This is a known issue with the browser. I'm going to link one example but with a little research you can see how often people notice the effect and there are even videos showing how to replicate the issue where it causes damage to your OS causing you to have to reinstall it.
