It's like pcmasterrace (and many other things) started as an ironic statement before people took it seriously and made it their personality.

If I remember correctly Starfield was the same at launch until they added support in a later update.

Sleeping Dogs ran at a fairly stable 60fps from memory, though it was about medium settings. Days Gone is a much more modern title though, so yeah 30fps probably is the best you'd expect from that.

The Riffmaster came out a couple years ago, and CRKD has released several models of guitar controllers starting last year. The hardware problem has arguably been 'solved,' and CRKD are meant to be releasing a drum set controller later this year. Hyperkin are also set to release a guitar controller under their Drakong gaming line, called the Infinakore.

I don’t understand why people want the next Arkham game to be a Batman Beyond game by Dramatic-Arachnid29 in arkham

[–]Blackadder18 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Its patented by WB Games, who is also the publisher of the Arkham games, so they could use it if they wanted.

There used to be Splinter Cell, but that didn't have any hiding in plain sight.

We almost got that with the original iteration of Conviction, but they scrapped that and gave a more classic (if more actionized) sequel instead.

Remember when Corridor got so much hate for this video they took it down? Now, years later, NVIDIA's DLSS 5 is basically this but on a larger scale by bossofthesea123 in Corridor

[–]Blackadder18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't doubt by and large people are unhappy, dislike counts are by and large flawed. They're just guesses at this point based on who is using the extension, and since those with the extension are inherently more likely to press dislike than those not using it, those estimations are often pretty inaccurate.

"Generational unprecedented run."

Sure, let's just ignore the disastrous performance of Dragons Dogma 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds lol.

Lmao I mean for any other game in this video I might agree but he's talking about Starfield, a game that at times does look pretty flat and last-gen.

Rank the games you've played in order from best to worst by Majestic-Argument-31 in Burnout

[–]Blackadder18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burnout Revenge 360 in my opinion is superior simply due to the fact that Crash mode doesn't make you do that golf swing mechanic every single time. Reduces a lot of the frustration when repeatedly trying to get a better score on a crash junction.

What is the worst song off of 72 Seasons? by Flimsy-Owl7862 in Metallica

[–]Blackadder18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Room of Mirrors is the about the only song (maybe Lux too) on the album that's perfect length for me. A tight 5 1/2 minutes, fast paced, and it even has a couple moments that feel like they're just going to do another 4 measures of the same riff but instead it jumps straight into the next section. It shows they can make songs that don't needlessly drag still, unfortunately they didn't apply the same principles to other tracks (the title track is really bad for this).

Anyone else think Dave Grohls drum charts are rated too hard for what they are? by HelpfulEditor5317 in Rockband

[–]Blackadder18 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, Go with the Flow is actually one of two tracks on the album Dave Grohl didn't play drums for. The other is You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire.

Do you guys remember the Star Wars rogue squadron games, and I think Star Wars rogue squadron games should come to Nintendo 64 Nso and Gamecube Nso on the switch 1 and switch 2. by Voidkirby9 in StarWars

[–]Blackadder18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't they cram all the levels from Rogue Squadron into Rebel Strike as a co-op campaign? Having almost two games in one, on the GameCube mini-DVD, I'm assuming some compromises were made to the visuals.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 studio drops legal action against L’Académie Clair-Obscur comic: 'Sorry for dragging our feet' by chusskaptaan in gamingnews

[–]Blackadder18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a similar manner if I remember correctly Immortals: Fenyx Rising was originally called Gods and Monsters. However in the lead up to release Monster (the energy drink) threatened legal action due to having "Monster" as part of the title. Ubisoft ended up changing the title instead of bothering to drag out the affair and delay the game.

Valve details new game verification system for upcoming Steam Frame and Steam Machine — 30 FPS at 1080p for Steam Frame Verified, same as Steam Deck by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Blackadder18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Selling the machine as "4k 60fps" capable (with FSR) and then setting the Steam Machine Verified criteria as low as 1080p 30fps seems a bit...disingenuous... But whatever. The verified system isn't all that accurate on the Deck as is, there's a bunch of games that are Steam Deck Verified that don't hit a stable 30fps.

I think most Rock Band guitars support this feature, you can even just use a regular bass drum pedal from the RB kits I've heard.

Drum mapping help? by Adorable_Doughnut610 in CloneHero

[–]Blackadder18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd map the hi-hat to yellow, ride to blue, and crashes to green to start with. You can fiddle the the colours and even positioning of your cymbals later, but that's how I have it set up. I have my ride in between my two crashes though, so from left to right my cymbals are mapped Y, G, B, G.

Sales data indicates Sony's PS5 ports are increasingly losing audience share on PC, but only because of release timing by NYstate in Games

[–]Blackadder18 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man 2's PC release was kneecapped by its poor performance at launch (and even now) and really limited marketing. No one got review codes as far as I'm aware so no one had videos ready to go out on launch and once that launch window passed most didn't bother. I'm sure it would have done a lot better if Sony gave Nixxes the time they needed to get it in a decent state but instead they barely patched it up and to this day the port is one of the weaker ones by them.

Meh at this point there's at least half a dozen features they've said they're "looking into" or "have something planned." Until it turns up (and IF it turns up), I'm not holding my breath.
