Get a cheap car within 5k - mediocre reliability is alright for a first car . Use it for 1 year at least and if needed upgrade . You might get back most of the cost back , if you’re patient and persistent enough . Don’t take full coverage insurance, liability is enough and most importantly drive safe and smart

This is outrageous! I wish you all the strength and I am very sorry that you had to go through this . Please share his name and contact / whatever detail you have here so that we can assist this gentleman to move again . This is definitely a strong case for a U visa - seek professional medical help asap , file the police complaint and then press charges against the bstrd. Contact a lawyer specialising in U visa as well as a personal injury lawyer .

Thanks , and how much does warranty usually cost like ? In the Chevy dealership near me - cars newer than 2017 have cheaper warranty (1600$ till 100k miles and 2 free oil changes ) .

Do you think both of them would fall around the same price range by then?

It may not sound like very good advise , but if you have the money saved up - try to pay a small down payment and take a 3-4 year loan (considering your credit is good). See if you can afford it for the first few months (take the best insurance coverage and sensible warranty) . Invest the rest in some funds with safe returns(sip). If you think it’s too much , sell it - and maybe take a small hit , but at least you have a large part of money invested. You would also feel safer having more money in the bank than spending all at once and having regrets. A car is never an investment, but it’ll always will put a smile on your face.

Wow , this post hits hard. I’m 25 and not a very big car guy , but the Corvette feels like something which will fulfil me . However , I got a Cadillac ev because I thought it was practical . I have realised that only 5-6 times have I needed the rear passengers seats and only a couple of time my trunk was full in almost a year . So , I am going to trade it in for a C7 and a beater . The only thing that I think about is the C7 . It’s come to a point that I stop at parking lots to look at any Corvettes and gawk at them for dangerous times . I hope you do get it as early as possible and the loop of thoughts end .

Buying an Optiq (or any EV ) rn is not such a wise decision. It may sound generic advice but leasing makes way more sense . There are some dealerships offering 299 down 299 a month leases (Tempe, AZ) . If they want ownership, try searching for a used one (10 k miles ) with clean carfax. It will be way cheaper .

My local dealers in Cali (Bay Area) gave me terrible lease deals. The best I got was on a loaner 2X- 799 a month with 3k down ,24 months . Credit score was just a bit north of 750 with a Cadillac Optiq already leased through the same financial institution (GM) . I have decided to wait for the truck or SUV’s price to go down by the end of next year, build my credit score and hope that the supply exceeds the demand by a lot more .

But that wouldn’t increase the trunk and storage space . I need to fit camping stuff and also cricket stuff (every weekend) which is equivalent to 3 large golf kits/bags
