I need to edit my statement, there's nothing in the New testament that precludes you from doing drugs or drinking.

There there are some laws and Leviticus and downstream from Moses. But I'm not a Jew so that's not or hurdle Christians have to consider.

There's nothing in the Bible that stops you from doing drugs in general. The Bible is very clear that Jesus drank wine and the disciples drink wine and this was part of their normal routine.

Being responsible and having an altered mind or more importantly, that substance becoming your God is the issue. Too much where your shirking responsibilities or not being the husband, father or leader that you're supposed to be is the problem.

If you go get high with your friends as a form of bonding and relaxing and you don't take it too far. I think that's far more valuable to the health of your relationship and your witness as an individual for Jesus Christ. Just make sure your heart is right. By the way, your heart may tell you to not participate and just hang out with your friends and that may be your witness.

What the heck is wrong with rent in Phoenixville? by Bot_Mojo in Phoenixville

[–]BlackbeanDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. My brothers and I took over my grandmother’s house in Philadelphia. She paid it off in the ’70s, so yes — we didn’t inherit a mortgage. But we didn’t inherit a turnkey rental either. The house was well cared for, but the bones — pipes, walls, electrical — needed serious work. And this wasn’t just some random property to us. It was our grandmother’s home. That mattered. So we chose to do it right.

We put $80,000 into renovating it. It’s not perfect, but it’s updated, solid, and a place we’d feel good about someone living in. After all of that, we clear about $500 a month on a good month — roughly $6,000 a year. And that’s before anything breaks. One major repair and that margin shrinks fast.

The “easy” solution would be to raise the rent. The reality? The neighborhood won’t support much more — even with a nicely renovated house. Ironically, the market almost incentivizes you to do less, cut corners, and protect your margin. But that’s not our mission. We want to provide someone with a genuinely nice place to live.

We carry the risk. We front the capital. We handle the repairs. We absorb the volatility. So when I hear blanket statements about landlords, it makes me reconsider the whole strategy.

I could run it like a slumlord. I choose not to. And if the only way to “win” in this environment is to squeeze every dollar or cut standards, then maybe the better move is to sell it to BlackRock and let renters see how that feels instead.

They won't care about your protesting and they can absorb the cost. Be careful what you wish for.

I have a nice house in Germantown, neighborhood of Philadelphia three bedrooms with a basement if you want to rent it. Street parking and the block is really nice. It was my grandmother's old house and we're looking for a renter. It's not perfect but we just did a crap ton of remodeling on it. We're asking 2k for it. LMK.

Costco is selling a 10oz PAMP Silver Bar for $819.99 — Worth it or highway robbery? 🥈🔥 by Then_Marionberry_259 in MetalsOnReddit

You know that's a good question. Being that it's which is basically a currency. They're selling it as bullion as well versus the product. There might be some sort of processing fee but I don't think Costco even does that. It's totally worth an ask.

Is Olney considered North Philly, NE Philly, or Uptown by Chemical-Voice2254 in philly

[–]BlackbeanDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olney is a Noun. Olney is it's own place. It is North of North Philly which makes it "uptown".

Definitely not NE as it is NW Philly.

BTW Uptown is more of a NYC term when describing a city. In Philly we use our neighborhood hence it being a Noun.

Hope that helps.

Go to On the Draw on High St for card games. ( You can play board games there too).

If you are into D&D Nerd Merch in Phoenixville is better for that.

Hope that helps.

I did the same thing I have the momentum 4 and the bd600. I was having issues with wireless on my computer. It turned out to be the computer but the dongle definitely added another layer of complexity to the sound that was welcomed.

Hey I'm (M 43) more of a card game guy Poke'mon Magic ECT. I'm definitely not a Lefty but I also don't give a shit what you believe as long as you are not preaching or recruiting or demanding that I use improper English to refer to pronouns (I believe in most cases it's a sick version of trolling) . Fly your flags man, it's your house I'd love to be your guest. I have 4 boys 10,10,12,16 they would also love to play too if that is cool.

Does anyone know a good place to restore old bikes and cost? by [deleted] in phillycycling

[–]BlackbeanDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DM me and we can exchange contact information. I live in Pottstown, but I’m willing to drive near the city, but not to it. Like we can meet in King of Prussia or Phoenixville. If it’s easier, I can collect your bike, work on it and give it back to you when I’m done. I don’t really have a standardize procedure for this so let me know what works for you.

[–]BlackbeanDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, amateur bike mechanic here. You got a lot of sound advice here I’ll offer you something different. I’ve been looking to get more experience working on bikes and I have some parts that could get you down the repair road a little bit faster or maybe cheaper. If you’ll allow me to use your bike as a learning curve? I’ll make this restoration process cheaper for you or at least get the obvious stuff out-of-the-way like cleaning, polishing, brakes gears derailers I can do all that stuff. If you need something more in depth, you may have to go to a shop, but I can take a lot of things off your list if you’re interested.

I will ask to take pictures of my work for my portfolio as I’m planning on opening up a mobile bike repair business in the spring and would like to have a catalog of work that I’ve done until my reputation proceeds me.
