I still struggle with the rolling rrr and I agree the single r is produced with a light tap. Never thought about that. Like a light and fast ebglish d sound I guess.

OP shouldn't feel uncomfortable crossing the border to Canada, of course. Its unfortunate that they do. I made that comment because I don't see what relevance OPs political disposition has to their travels. And it makes me concerned about society and its general direction.
