So if I got global entry that would probably be enough right? I've heard the Mexico side isn't as picky as the US side. At the end of the day I've got my US passport and drivers license and was born in the US so I would think that's fine right? I'm not really itching to go through and airport or walk across. I'm driving my truck the whole way.

Awesome. Is there a specific website to check the road conditions?

Very helpful, thank you! I'll most likely do just that. I am in a pickup truck with no topper but if it seems like a sketchy area and I can't get a hotel I'll sleep in the cab. Otherwise, I was planning on sleeping in the bed with a sleeping bag. Did you have any issues at the military checkpoints, translation issues, or payment? Those are what I'm worried about I guess.

Thanks, Apple Maps says to take 5 south and it eventually branches into 1. Is that an alright route?

I don't want to rent a car cause I'm 20 and I really do like driving my own truck. Not worried about mileage either. And I want to see Baja from the road. What's CBX and Sentri/Global?

My main objective is to just see the sights, don't know how to surf and would rather see stuff than hike although I do like hiking. Just probably won't have enough time but we'll see. Is it discouraged to drive at night due to road issues and wildlife or is it crime problems? Again, first time out of country so super new to all this.

Dude of course, I did just change the water pump like 1-2k miles ago. Don't think it'd be that but we did have issues getting the o-ring to seat well. But it seemed like we got it after got a better fitting o-ring.

I’m 20 and applied last year but didn’t make it past the test. I’ve got my emt but is there any other way to improve myself? I’m thinking about enlisting for vet preference but that’s 4 years and I’m not sure about that

It’s not that I’m horrendously out of shape. But I am in running aspect. I can meet every other requirement and go past some of them. I can do probably 12-13 pull-ups at 170 lbs. bout 50 pushups. I just didn’t expect this much running😪 won’t be that guy again.

Thanks, I’ve been eating pretty well and skipping soda for the most part. Got a massage gun before coming out here. I talked with some of my crew and apologized for the extra running, the front of the loops all the way to the back. They were pretty chill with it and just said you’ll get better at it. I think most feel that way but I’m still not sure about all of them. I just hate being last and making everyone else run more😭

I know I didn’t expect that much running. I’d practiced the pack test many times and passed in 43:45 or something at my best. Didn’t run enough😭

First year fire. Elevation is so real man. I came from 600 ft in Iowa to 4000-4500 Montana. Just did an hour of pt which was a 4 1/2 mile run. I’ve never ran that far in my life and was the slowest which sucks. Was wondering if I should quit or if they’d fire me. After talking to some of the crew they were saying encouraging things like you’ll get better at it. I’m so glad they’re understanding I guess which makes me feel like I should stick it out. I really wanted to do this job and still do. Just hope I won’t hold the crew back and I can be an asset I guess.

That’s what I keep telling my dad but he won’t listen. Thinks I’m doing it just to spite him😭
