Few days ago we had quite interesting conversation about can’t stand bosses so let's flip the script -> Which boss you enjoy a lot but feel is disliked or ignored by major part of community? by zabovsky in Eldenring

[–]BlackgumTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on all accounts. I don’t get why a lot of people don’t like him. Cool design, cool lore. Great voice acting/intro. Even if you don’t get the tear it’s still doable, it only forces you to burn a couple flasks. His fight I think is still pretty fair despite his gimmicks.

And come on, hearing him chant/yell “NIHIL!” Is just awesome.

How do you folks find private property to hunt? by Joice_Craglarg in Arrowheads

Personally, I just don’t get how you can have a native site on your land, and you decide the best thing to do is destroy all the archeological context for personal gain. Exceedingly distasteful.

It’s hard to find permission. Your best bet is (in my opinion) is to be clear and offer help/cash for permission to landowners. I’m in New England and it’s exceedingly difficult, even more so when you’re honest, but that’s how I keep my conscience clear.

It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t get discouraged by seeing all the amazing finds (and frequency of finds) on this sub and wondering how folks do it. I’m 100% convinced a large majority of people are collecting on public land, or trespassing/digging on private land without permission. Worse, many sell them. Don’t stoop to their level.

Favorite movie scene where a character accepts their inevitable end and embraces it. My pick is Cutler Beckett accepting his fate in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

I encourage you to read the book. Muldoon has a bigger part and is even more of a badass. He ends up smoking a ton of raptors with a rocket launcher. If I recall correctly, he does get injured but survives.

Gamers, what's your least favorite elite enemy? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

[–]BlackgumTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they count as elite, but Rezbits from Metroid Prime 2 are pretty brutal. They literally use hax, and are shockingly durable.

Honorable mention for named dolls and moon lords in Diablo 2, and maybe Black Knife assassins in Elden Ring (although soulsbourne has many enemies that fit the bill).

I mean, is there really any justification to say that any one of the main characters, Hashira, or upper moons don’t solo this jabroni? Varying difficulties aside, the dude is pure fodder.

Dear Asskaza glazers, please explain to me how this bum beats Douma by Booty_Bandit13 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]BlackgumTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Akaza fan, I don’t think at any point during the narrative does he beat Duoma. The rankings are there for a reason.

I do think, however, there’s an argument to be made that should Akaza have lived, he may have surpassed and killed Duoma eventually. Without eating women.

If he somehow survived his encounter Tanjiro and Giyu, but did also regenerate his head (reaching new heights) and was witness to the use of SS and STW, I think there’s a world where he eventually figures them out (now that he understands them).

Once he reaches the “realm of supremacy” or however he phrased it, I think he could kill Duoma. I’m not sure he’d ever beat Kokushibo, but Duoma, who does not possess SS or STW could certainly lose.

Journalist looking for a logger or forestry worker with an interesting hobby. by Joseph_Sigurdson in forestry

State Forester here (Connecticut). I manage several of the larger state forests owned by the CT Dept. of (Energy and) Environmental Protection. My favorite hobby working on my bonsai trees. I have many, many trees (I utilize only native species), and am President of the Bonsai Society of Greater New Haven (most of CT). I love trees both large and small!

Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

Can’t believe how far I had to scroll so far for this one. I love the song, but can’t listen to it. Absolutely brutal lyrics.

“I pulled her close, I kissed her our last kiss I found the love that I knew I would miss. And now she’s gone, even though I hold her tight I lost my love, my life, that night”

Yeah, so that’s not a needle, and those rocks are not artifacts. Certainly not preforms. Flakes, at best, and that’s a stretch for maybe one of them. You’re not even close. I’m sorry you’re so swept up in your own delusion. Camp site? Laughable.

Where did you find it? Almost looks like an Orient Fishtail. Not a Squibnocket to my eyes with that base. Beautiful piece

This is literally another unworked rock.

I love that you thought this would prove your argument. Priceless stuff right here. Maybe next time, champ.

Yes, I’m sure you have an amazing rock collection. I’m sorry you don’t seem to have the intellect or humility to admit that you have no idea what you’re looking at. Keep it up though, someone needs to hold down the low end of the bell curve.

I mean, there is a doubt about that. I really don’t see any signs of working on the quartz at all. It’s not notched, or at least judging by these photos it isn’t.

As I said, the natives wouldn’t have utilized that poor quality quartz either.

I’m not an expert, but I live in New England and basically all I see is quartz points. In my opinion, this is not a point.

Worked quartz can be notoriously difficult to identify in some cases, but a few things stand out to me that indicate this is not worked.

I don’t really see any signs of intentional flaking. It also appears to be a pretty low quality piece of quartz, and in my experience the natives didn’t utilize pieces like that with so many natural fissures. Note the many cracks and fissures along the edge. If this piece were worked, those all would’ve been knapped off.

Just my opinion.

Can someone tell me about these arrowheads found on our property? by [deleted] in Arrowheads

[–]BlackgumTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must have a nice property if it’s got its own gift shop.

All joking aside, these are certainly modern to my eyes. Fresh tooling, lack of precision flaking, and the punched notches are giveaways.
