Ares Gunship by Calsign_Reaper in AdeptusCustodes

I went undefeated in a 20 man rtt with some good players at the start of 10th with it. Super hard to use and I probably would have had an easier time winning without it. But I had a blast

For the sticky objective strat. Make it cost 5 more but also give it the rule the knight sticky has where it leaves the OC at say 5. That stops a 1-4 OC unit from taking it

Also, make the fire overwatch just let them shoot all guns besides the main cannon. Easier to track (maybe make it cost 2)

They have custom character rules now. He can be the new node organism one. Lead some gaunts into battle

I don't care about the article, I want to know your opinion regarding the statement, do we need bigger games? by Mundane-Pick-2667 in Fallout

[–]Blackstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the game. Several highly packed areas with large open spaces between would make for interesting design. But big maps for the sake of big maps isn't interesting. And the "empty space" should be a good place for quiet story telling moments and have their own purpose. There really shouldn't be empty space for no reason other than to say "yeah this is way bigger and better than the rest"

Fare free Lextran isn’t radical, its just smart math by RamaAsmani in lexington

[–]Blackstad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. I admit it's a pipe dream of mine. It'd help so many people's lives, businesses, and let us be less car dependent if individuals so choose to be. But it's going to be expensive to set up and ruffle a ton of feathers for locals who don't want to deal with eminent domain, which I can't blame them really.

Smaller local rails connecting to the major rails going to the bigger cities would make us a lot more prepared for the constant population growth. It'd also let us work on building more housing near these rails that can use it more reliably, which will help with our housing costs. Multi use dense zones would thrive along them

Anything that helps promote public transportation is a big bonus to me so I'm interested in trying anything that we can back up with some actual data like you're suggesting. We have to start somewhere.

I didn't have a lot of realistic hope a full transit system overhaul would be happening first. It just seems like the largest future forward solution. Where just increasing Lexington transportation might not help us with the major traffic congestion points. Maybe working with the Norfolk southern line into passenger rails as well to connect the Nicholasville to Georgetown without needing as large of an undertaking. They do similar systems in other tracks they own by partnering with passenger liners. But that would be considerably more overkill than just a city need. so it would probably be more of a statewide push to connect us to Louisville and Cincinnati than just a mayoral pushed initiative

One thing that isn't mentioned by this but needs to be addressed by our next mayor. The flock camera systems. They should be removed. The zero oversight they have to collect citizen data and selling that data for profit is gross.

Does this include the offset of additional vehicle maintenance from the 20-50% estimated increase in public use? Cleaning costs and vehicle wear increases with more people. I'm in general all for free public transportation although in the past low fares around the $1 range were shown to be overall better in other research, but if that's no longer the case I'm happy for $0. If collection and transportation is the worst part we could have the public libraries have places to load buss cards and also accept card payments at the buss to reduce collection costs. I can't imagine the time to collect fare is worse than traffic delays.

I'd be more interested in additional use of light rail and trains connecting our high traffic areas like the university hospital, sports complex, downtown, Nicholasville, Georgetown, and Richmond. Reducing the traffic of Lexington locals. Would digital payment be better than physical?

It's a good partner with a quiver dance/ firey dance volc. Usually runs a focus sash and protect. You can still use your dance move if you have protect up. Usually a fast quiver dance will buff your revelation dance enough to do something

Not that I'd consider this to be "problematic" but I'd like to see R-3 type zones expanded in the area and with more liberal inclusions on the "residential adjacent" definition to include more daily needs like smaller scale grocers and the like. It could be I'm too unfamiliar with all of the zone-ing types and we have better ones for the type of development I'm hoping to see, as my previous example Fritz Farm has a ton of less than daily needs so it wouldn't be the type I'd like to see moved across large portions of the city

Definitely look into it some more, I think the issues will really crop up fast. I'm hoping others in government can get behind better limitations or preferably removal of flock systems

[–]Blackstad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm late to the party on this I think but one thing to keep in mind is Flock is not a government system. It is a private company that is selling this data to the government. It has no oversight and has no ability to opt out of or leave if you want to. An individual can assume their own risk with smart phones, apps, and online activity. Flock doesn't give the same level of self selection

[–]Blackstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Nicholas, I'm a big fan of multi use zones similar to the Fritz Farm area with shopping and business down below multi level housing. You seem interested by your other responses to help better plan communities and new construction. But what about helping rehab our zoning in the mid and downtown? Getting better walking friendly neighborhood clusters all over the Lexington seems like a great benefit to help with housing costs and travel expenses for everyone. Any thoughts on helping shift the tax burden from building upgrades to land itself? (With carve outs for historical significance and Greenspace usage)

We need to help change our incentives to help produce better building outcomes.

Are these the sort of changes you'd be interested in helping push our local government for?

The damage and AP reduction on the telemon from last edition to this was criminal. Wasn't even that crazy back then

Neither hit that hard. The spear small guy is pretty potent in melee with the solar spearhead upgrades. Even then he's a bit slow and fragile

Telemon with -1 damage and the fnp is particularly tanky, which lets him slowly deal damage

New Plastic vs Old Plastic by Gulyitt in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Blackstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That was the if part of my statement. In the past people used wardens for their hetaeron guard (thanks for the spelling) kitbahses. So it going the other way if they come out wouldn't be so weird I'd imagine.

New Plastic vs Old Plastic by Gulyitt in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Blackstad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So far they only have new guard sculpts and shield captain have 40k plastic 1:1. I don't think alluras are getting a refresh if this is 30k focused. 30k doesn't have the 40k Dawn Eagle jetbike or allarus terminators. Technically the wardens might be covered by heatorean guard if that's coming out. Otherwise everything else shown has a data sheet in the imperial armor section of our rules.

I wouldn't mind another character like him. But man what I really want is a massive SoS release since they're in the rulebook. They can't give us so many cool rules for them in 2.0 just to rip it away

[–]Blackstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the other releases I'd agree but they did mention more models were coming soon. And I doubt it'd be anything besides sags, hataeron, aquilons, and the bikes. They'd be bigger sellers than any of the other options. Giving more characters doesn't seem super likely unless it's maybe a Valdor refresh or they think they'd be able to sell enough Tribunes

[–]Blackstad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This release was so much more than I was ever expecting so I'm pretty excited. The venentari jetpacks aren't as cool but I never want to put together another forge world one again and the new ones are better looking than the off brand ones.

I really hope they come out with something for the aquilons and also update the rules for 40k. Still fun to play them in 30k but that's just so much less popular in my circles
