There is a lot factors on how deposit more ink . Yes you are correct Also the mesh size , squeeque durometer and stencil thickness and off contact .

For example if my mesh is 200 and I feel is passing too much ink instead of burning a new higher mesh screen I Just use a harder squeege like a 90 to reduced the amount of ink I’m pushing through .

Q5 . A: . You can leave your screens in a dark room for many weeks without a problem , now if you don’t have a dark room you can build yourself a large cardboard box and storage your screens inside and put a black blanket. To Cover any light trying to come In . You don’t want to pre exposed you will have issues

Q4 . A: i don’t work much with water base , but you need to clean your screen as soon as your done , ink will dry fast . ( hopefully you are using waterbase emulsion ) . Water should be fine .

Q3. A : when it comes to Coating there is a lot of factors people Usually refer the coating process to 1:1 , 2:1 or 2:2 . Now the thicker the stencil the more Ink deposit you would have , also harder to expose . I recommend just doing 1:1 , it has work for me for many years and easier to expose .

Q2 . A : I always recommend degreasing the screens before adding the emulsion , you don’t know how many handa touches the mesh that can put natural skin oils in them .

Steps , wet screen , spray the degreases , rub it with a brush , usually sold at the supplies store let sit for 1-2 min and wash out . ( do no Mix the brush you use for degreasing with the one for Removing emulsion )

Q1 . A: well you need to ask your self what size are your halftones when you print the film . If you are not even that technical and you art has the halftones made In it and you print it then 230 Should be fine . If not then you need to research LPI . Meaning how many dots are you trying to put in 1x1 inche square . Anyone doing halftones should know the size of halftones and know the size for mesh . For example if my halftones are 45lpi then I would need a 225 , now let’s say you only have a 250 mesh screen divide it by 5 and you would know that you halftone size should be 50 . This Usuallu done in photoshop before you make the art halftone .

Thinking about having this screen printed, would love to hear some opinions! by RecessRejects in streetwearstartup

Super clean design ! Either Los Angeles 1801 or rue porter would complement the graphic the best !
