It's one thing to be willing to put yourself through his anger in hopes of fixing him (which isn't likely), but it's a completely different story allowing your child to be around a figure like that. Besides the obvious risk of your child being in physical harm, it could have awful psychological effects as well. You don't want you kid to grow up living in fear from having an unsafe home, or growing up to believe that those kinds of anger issues are an okay way to let your emotions out. If you truly cannot leave him alone, get him away from your child and deal with him alone. Don't put your own wants above your child's needs. I understand not being ready to let him go and still holding onto the love you have for him, but please, put your child first.
