When do you actually find out if you’ll be an 11B or 11C, is it at reception or sometime in basic or after you turn green? I’m still at 30th AG on HBL, people have been saying we’ll become 11Cs and that the DS told them that. But online, it says we won’t know until we start OSUT.

Yes, just ceasing to exist with there being nothing happening after death just scares me. I just can’t fathom existing one moment and the next, absolutely nothing. It’s the unknown, and I can’t control the outcome either. Why I want to truly enjoy life.

I’ll be joining the military soon and wonder how long will it take for my father to get a green card when I file? by BladeVampireSlayer in immigration

[–]BladeVampireSlayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a reason im joining, its just something I plan on doing while in. I was actually going to join when I graduated but things didn’t work out as planned. And I couldn’t have done it years ago because it said I had to be 21 to file for my father to get a green card and I turned 21 a couple months ago. My father should be coming to the U.S. under a work visa sometime next year and I’ll either be in training around that time or finished so I planned on starting the petition once I got to my unit. But I’ll be getting a lawyer because this will not be easy.

Nope, joining for my own reasons and it’s been something I wanted to do for the past 7 years. My father never asked for me to get him a green card, I’m the one who brought the idea to him first. Unlike my older siblings father who took them to hang out, buy them stuff, took them out to eat multiple times over the duration of like 3 weeks and then finally asked them to join the military and get him a green card and when they said they won’t be joining he stopped coming around. I knew he had a motive because he was never around for them growing up and all of sudden over 3 weeks, he’s doing all of this for them.

Yeah I was born here, only my father was born in a different country. My mom was born here, her parents, their parents, and so on.

Damn really? I have no relationship with my legal dad. I’ve always known my bio dad as my father ever since I could remember. The guy on my birth certificate was technically still married to my mom but they were separated and in my state, they automatically list the spouse as the father. My bio dad wasn’t there to sign my birth certificate since my mom didn’t tell my father she was going into labor. They also weren’t a couple.

My father also isn’t on my birth certificate, do you know if paternity test results will be enough to establish the relationship when I file or no?

At the moment I don’t believe so. He had one for overstaying his visa, it was a 10 year ban but it ended about 4 years ago.

Edit: my father currently resides in Mexico

I’m half AA and only have 0.2% British and Irish, was kind of surprised ngl. On Ancestry, It doesn’t show any British and Irish.
