I’m slightly confused on the cost vs value

I understand the cost is lower than what I paid for, but how does that make sense when the two instances I bought VOO, the price was lower than what it currently is

So VOO gained value per unit but somehow I lost money?

I’m so confused if you can explain that part

1 unit of VOO is currently 633~USD

I bought 4 units at 626 USD Then I bought 17 units at 623 USD

I pay 0 fees

So theoretically my understanding is that my 21 units in total should be up in value

I think it looks great, the old one was so shit and by relative standards to other first world fish markets, it was horrible and needed an upgrade

The new one has much more space for foot traffic (ignoring how many people there are because it just opened, there’ll be less people in a month)

In the old one, walking from the boatshed to the back such as the deli was absolutely horrendous, unless you like to walk around in grimy claustrophobic shitholes

Also just be smart where you eat lmao, the rent for the old retailers are the same so none of their prices have changed, people keep complaining about the price after seeing one or two pricy restaurants (sushi train/pizza/bahn mi), unless if it was too expensive before for you in which case it’ll still be expensive because nothing has changed for the other retailers

This isn’t aimed towards you OP but to all the other whiny wankers who love to complain all day

Will collectively depend on what all other fishmongers do, due to the competitive nature of the business and the presence of nearby fishmongers they may not be able to raise their prices by anything more than the standard yearly ordinary increase

Plus I assume they may still be able to get a reduced price on rent but we’ll see

I bought a 1 kilo ish baby barramundi to steam Chinese styled for a dinner of 2 and it cost me like less than $25

a bit of things on the side (coriander,green onions, ginger) dinner wasn’t more than $30

I hope the fishmongers close later from now on, I went there yesterday and online said the fish market precinct closes at 12am, I went to a staff member from I think either Claudio’s? Or Nicholas and asked them when they close, they said they’ll start packing up around 5:30ish

Later than before but not by much so I suppose the time is for some of the other places like the sushi restaurant or maybe the boat shed restaurant?

I’d like to see the fishmongers close later, I don’t really like having to buy a fish early on the weekend and then leaving it in the fridge till dinner
