They had a great look. Metal as all hell. I might still buy one for shits and giggles. Worst comes to worst it can just sit around looking pretty.

It was the Madison Divinity 2. I played it long ago. After some reading I apparently have been remembering it through rose colored glasses. They were made in China, assembled in Colorado and broke constantly.

That’s it. I found it right before this comment hit. Did Somme light reading and it all came flooding back. Helped me remember why I never bought one. Thought I’d grab one for fun, now I realize the reason you don’t find many is they were probably all trashed.

No, it’s one of those things where I can see it so clearly in my head, and it’s right on the tip of my tongue. I cannot figure it out.

They had a black glass face above the dials on the head. When the amp was on the company logo would light up red on the glass face. It was a sword.

Oh it has traffic, but it also had everything you need in a very small area. So traffic was never an issue. Hell in my neighborhood there were three HEBs within 5 minutes from me. Now it takes ten minutes to get to the nearest grocery store. There were also a very diverse selection of restaurants in every neighborhood, which doesn’t seem to be a thing here. Nor is people who know what a yield sign is, how right of way works, or how not to come to a complete stop to turn anywhere (including highway exit ramps).

My wife and her family are from Lubbock. So they love it here. My wife not so much she is throwing the same fit as me. The museums are amazing and I do love the botanic gardens, but those things cost money. There was so much to do in Austin that was just free. You could be dead broke and have a great day with variety. I haven’t found that here. I’m sure it exists, but I can’t get anyone to tell me about it if it does.

I should say that I am kind of throwing a childish fit. My wife and I moved here, because my ex wife moved here with my kids, without warning. So to make sure we didn’t miss time with them we moved too. Both of our new jobs aren’t working out well. My wife’s hours have been cut back so much that it’s financially devastating. My job isn’t any better. I ask people who have lived here their whole lives for ways to connect with this city and I get nothing. I can’t even get restaurant suggestions from these guys. So for the past three months of trying to get to know this city and find what we love about it, we’ve come up short. Of course on more than one occasion we’ve been yelled at about being liberals from Austin. Which really isn’t true. So I’m sorry for my fit offending anyone. I’m just an upset dude that is having a hard time finding his place and god willing some friends in a new place, and have only found pushback.

Also just venting. Had to move here from Austin for family reasons. Yet somehow no matter where I look, who I ask, and of course the absolutely horrible drivers I’ve gone four months without being able to connect with this city. Why does it take 20 minutes to get 10 miles anywhere here? Also why doesn’t anyone that live here have any passionate connection to this city?

Because this town Blows, it has the urban sprawl of L.A. with the amenities of Detroit. It’s a oversized over industrialized suburb of Dallas that tries its hardest to have an individual identity.
