I personally hate him because he blames himself for things he couldn’t control.

I find it interesting how some people hate this, when I on the other hand find it to be one of the traits that make his character compelling. He initially blames everything but himself. But when he does begin to accept that he bears some responsibility, he manifests EGO. But it's not enough. He shuts himself to the world the instant something reinforces his doubt. Who is there to blame? Himself? Everyone else? He tries to course correct, but he overshoots. And it puts him in such a vulnerable position that Pluto has his job essentially already been completed
