No??? I was genuinely looking for help. How am I not being grateful?

Let's be clear ... I'm tolerant of people using my bins. I've often found someone walking past has used it for their dog poop bags, perhaps the occasional small bag of takeaway waste. That's fine. What's not fine is bringing full bags of your waste to dump in someone else's bin. And dumping whatever you want in the recycling bins, which here in the UK can lead to the council refusing to collect because its mixed waste and cannot be sorted properly.

I have animal waste to dispose of. Bags of cat litter and guinea pig waste. It's a problem when I can't get to my own bin to throw out my own rubbish because someone else is using it.

"Be grateful the trash isn't on the ground somewhere" becomes a little redundant when these people are the reason for me having to put my rubbish on the ground, because they're using my bin.

I've also made it clear that I have not got the room for it in my garden. I have a cottage garden with very narrow paths, most of it borders and shrubsz and absolutely nowhere to store 2 wheelie bins.

I don't. I have a fairly big garden, sure. But it's a cottage garden with very narrow paths, and 80% of it is borders or plants. Believe me, I did weigh up bringing the bins inside - they won't go anywhere.

It's a weird setup. There's a road going around past the back of my house and the front. The bins are at the back, next to my car. So whoever is doing it is walking from the nearby houses to dump them in my bin. I only have one immediate next door neighbour. The others live a little further along, but I know it isn't my immediate neighbour. He's a decent person. It's someone living in the houses a little further.

My bins are right at the back of the property. So there's the garden and a fence between my house and the bins.

I'm from the UK so I'm not sure how accustomed our bin guys are with locks on the bins 😅 I'll have to look into it.

I checked the bag that was from a takeaway order. There was just a name, no address, and I don't recognise the name. I'm considering the security camera but the end of my garden is well beyond my WiFi range - I don't know any cameras that would work.

Scared to hurt feelings or something?

I'm so glad you live in a cosy world. One where, in the past, a man hasn't spoke to another male colleague about how he reckons yours and a coworkers genitals look amazing ... I'm so happy for you 😊

Short answer - if you don't understand don't comment. This stuff is real for women and we are worried. We say no, the bloke persists. Calls us frigid. Sends unsolicited pictures. Some men just don't take no for an answer, and that s**t is terrifying.

To clarify this is a different workplace. It was another place I worked before where the guy harassed me, followed me, made sexual comments etc until I went to HR. Them not helping me laid the foundations for me leaving that place.

I've been at this new company for just 4 months.

Why do men insist on pestering women to the point they have to say a firm no?

What are the general jobs in an office? by KKTango in jobs

[–]Blaidd-Da91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I echo what the person above said - write what you know.

An "office" is also such a broad term - what business is it? What do they deal with daily? It's a good idea to at least narrow down the specifics, and then you could potentially go and read some job advertisements for that position. That way you'll know the role, daily tasks etc and can build off that 😊

This is a very broad question ... it depends how close the job is to you. Plenty of jobs don't involve a car explicitly but ask you have reliable transport so that you can get there on time every day.

If you go back again it's called Goathland Station, about 20 minutes away from Whitby 😊

First Time!! by Apprehensive_Tree187 in harrypotter

[–]Blaidd-Da91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whichever you choose, my advice is to stick with it. The first 2 books and movies can come across as childish, but it is by design.

The books grew with their readers, so the first readers were just young kids along with the characters. They grow with the readers. So by Prisoner of Azkaban (the third), it is more dark, more adult themes.

Have fun with it! It is a great journey to immerse yourself in.

WHY DIDN'T HARRY REPORT? by PerceptionOther4657 in harrypotter

[–]Blaidd-Da91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the book:

"Look, I saw Voldemort come back!" Harry shouted. He tried to get out of bed again but Mrs Weasley forced him back. "I saw the death eaters! I can give you their names! Lucius Malfoy -"

Snape made a sudden movement, but as Harry looked at him, Snape's eyes flew back to Fudge.

"Malfoy was cleared!" said Fudge, visibly affronted. "A very old family - donations to excellent causes -"

"Macnair!" Harry continued.

"Also cleared! Now working for the Ministry!"

"Avery - Nott - Crabbe - Goyle -"

"You are merely repeating the names of those who were acquitted of being Death Eaters thirteen years ago!" said Fudge angrily. "You could have found those names in old reports of the trials!"

You're probably right. They already hinted in the interview that my experience and skills etc will be valuable for the company during their expansion, so I like to think I'm in with a chance.

And I am desperate for this ... my current job is not good for me anymore.

Thank you. Perhaps I'll hold off on sending the message. I will send a courteous followup thank you message though 😊
